Ipod nano 3rd generation problem

My ipod nano, 3rd generation..8gb recently has a really weird problem. it plays songs well, but the screen looks cracked, even though it isnt. it is all white except some parts are black and almost looks like cracks inside the screen. and when i plug it into itunes it doesnt always work and my songs arent able to play when hooked to the computer. i didnt do anything to make this happen, except i was on a trip and when i went on the plane and turned my ipod on, i started experiencing these problems. before that i had to problems at all. please help, thank you. :)

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.

Try the Five R's suggested by your user's manual - you can get the manual from Apple's website if you have lost it:
Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore
Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with your iPod nano. If
one of the following doesn’t help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset your iPod nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.
â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod nano in iTunes.
â Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
â Reinstall iPod and iTunes software from the latest versions on the web.
â Restore your iPod nano. See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software” on page whatever.

You need to reset your ipod. Flip the hold switch on then off, then press select button and menu button at same time. Hold for 10 seconds or so. Ipod should shut off and reboot to apple screen. If this doesn't work first time try again. This should solve any stuck screen problems. Mine was stuck on pioneer screen and this operation fixed it.
