I have an ibook computer at startup a question mark file pops up, but not always sometimes the operating system does startup. However, after anywhere from 10-30 minutes it freezes up and when i restart...

There are three possible causes that come to mind, all of them related to the hard drive interface.
1. A bad connection in the hard drive to logic board cable.
2. A problem with the hard drive power (on logic board), possibly a dying capacitor (inexpensive part, but not cheap to diagnose and replace).
3. A failing drive interface chip (may also have problems with the optical drive). This is a logic board problem.

Next time this happens, try starting up with the Apple Hardware Diagnostic disk. It should be able to help you home in on the problem. (If you don't have the AHD disk, use your System install disk and see if the hard drive is listed in Disk Utility.) If AHD says the hard drive is bad but does not report any issues with the drive interface electronics, 1. and 2. are more likely. If you can't get the computer to start up from an optical disk either, then 3. could be the culprit.

How can I format my c drive?

you have to format your hard drive using a third party disc to erase everything on your hard drive

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to

cmos to restart

note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system

(note after you have loaded the operating system you must go back and change the first boot device to your hard drive)

Hp 530 laptop is very slow and freezes

Well, The problem can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload startup programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do these manually, try the hp speed up tool to give a free & full scan of your slow HP PC to find & fix all possible issues.

Meanwhile, upgrading hardware configuration (add RAM, change a new video card, larger-volume HDD etc) can be a fast yet effective way to improve your pc performance. But that won't be the most economical way, as you know you can't always afford to do that.

Ibm deskstar model dtla-307015 invalid system

For some reason, the computer isn't able to read the hard drive and Windows isn't being found. If this computer has a floppy disk drive, make sure there's no disk in it. (Some people still use floppies, and the normal setting for systems with floppy drives is to try booting from that drive first. You may have a disk in it that isn't bootable.) Other possible causes are hard drive failure, a virus or other malware program has damaged the drives boot sector, or a motherboard problem. The most likely cause would be the hard drive; as a mechanical device they are more prone to fail than other parts.

My Hard Drive sector is damage due to system crash, it takes a lot of time to format it. I have also tried check disc tool and try to repair damage sector, but the problem was not solved. System can...

It sounds like your hard drive is slowly reaching the end of its life. How long have you had the hard drive? When you say system crash, was the computer accidentally bumped or moved whilst in operation? If this is the case then this can cause quite serious damage to a hard drive and the disks inside would likely be scratched. It sounds like you will have to replace the hard drive. If can purchase a drive and have someone with technical know how install it for you. Good luck. Andrew

Runs slow, i do the basic like defrag, clean disk, delet history. internet files, thing of that nature but my hp is slow like my processor is out dated or my processor is trying to hard to complete simple...

Your computer has only 512MB of RAM.That will just barely run your XP,forget about doing anything else. You need a minimum of 1GB,2GB is even better.Your computer works in RAM not your hard-drive.The hard-drive is for storage, the RAM is for running your programs.
This link is your manual and it will walk you thru the procedure.Hope this helps?

Error code: 0x10090

That means that you have a disk error caused by a bad cluster which in turn may cause you to have bad disk partition.
I would try to use a Disk repair software such as Norton Disk Doctor or if you have nothing too vital on it, I would consider reformatting your external drive (after making a backup if at all possible).

Simpletech hard drive wont turn on

Don't panic! But it certainy sounds like your hard drive is damaged my friend. Hard drives are very, very dilicate pieces of machinary. The disk is paper thin and any sudden jarring, especially dropping them creates a warp in the drive. Unplug it to prevent further damage. THE SOUTION: In many cases you can have the data retrieved from your hard drive by using this online company that I highly recommend:

Bad sactor

a low level format could revive the disk - download the disk utility from the disk website (e.g if it is a quantum load the disk manager from quantum site & run on the disk - follow screen instructions)
hope this helps
