That's because the default address in AP mode is 192.168.1.2.

Can't log in Engenius EAP-3660 .after rest factory settings.why? can you help me pls

You don't seem to understand what an Access Point is.

an AP is used to extend your wireless range and will connect to your routericon1.png to provide network and internet access. An AP by itself cannot connect to the ISP since it does not use a WAN port

a router is an AP that will allow you to connect to your ISP for internet connection. A router can be configured to work as an AP but a AP cannot function as a router.

Read the manual. When you reset the AP the IP of the AP device became 192.168.1.1
That means you need to set the IP address of your computer to 192.168.1.x where x is anything from 253-2 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0

The router was reset. So, our AP does not work with it anymore. I reset the AP to restore it to its factory default settings and tried to follow the steps I made before in configuring the AP. but i can't...

Before you configure this device, note that when the AP is configured through an Ethernet connection, (via RJ45 Network Cable) make sure the manager PC must be set on same the IP network. For example, when the default network address of the default IP address of the AP is 192.168.1.1, then the manager PC should be set at 192.168.1.x (where x is a number between 2 and 254), and the default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
Open Internet Explorer 5.0 or above Web browser.
Enter IP address http://192.168.1.1 (the factory-default IP address setting) to the address location. Please refer here to the Latest User Manual for Encore ENRWI-G Page 9 onwards describes the login details.

Hope this Helps!

@annj2...... How to do full factory setting on wap-1001,level-1 products 11g outdoor wireless AP/bridge hence to remove administrator password?

  1. Start the web browser (make sure you disable the proxy) and type 192.168.1.20 (The default IP of outdoor AP ip Address) in the Address field. Press Enter.

In Management section, you can Backup/Restore Setting, Firmware Upgrade and Reboot the system in following pages.

  1. Backup the current settings to a file - Click on the "Backup" button, system will prompt you where to save the backup file. You can choose the directory to save your configuration file.
  2. Restore settings from a backup file - Here you can restore the configuration file from where you previous saved.
  3. Restore factory default setting - Be very carefully before restore system back to default since you will lose all current settings immediately.

If you act the function, the ip address will restore the establishing value situation.

192.168.1.20 in the IP Address field and 255.255.255.0 in the Subnet Mask field.

Hope this helps!

I am trying to setup my set up a Access Point at my house with the following product. a EnGenius EOC 2611P. when i set security on the device it is not sending an ip address to the computer. is there a...

Assigning an IP address to a computer is a function of DHCP. Either the access point's DHCP server much be enabled, or a DHCP server somewhere on the network to which the AP provides a path must be enabled. There should be only one DHCP server per LAN.
For example, if you have a home router handing out DHCP addresses to computers in your home, and you wire this AP to your router to wirelessly serve an additional computer or computers in a remote location, then its DHCP server should be off, because DHCP service will be performed by your home router to both local and remote computers.
However, if you connect this AP directly to your network interface and serve ONLY computers in a remote location, then its DHCP server should be on, so that it will provide DHCP addresses to the remote computers (because your network interface in general won't, unless it is also a router itself, in which case see the previous paragraph).

I pushed the reset button on my engenius IEEE802.11 b/g router......it isnt working now it says it is on my when i try to use it on my computer and my xbox360 it automatically says that i dont have a...

When you push the reset button, you reset the network configuration to factory default. Now you have to reconfigure the unit to re-establish the network routing and addressing for your home network, the same way you configured it when you first got it. Its default address is either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2, depending on whether it was in bridge or AP mode when you reset it.

Trying to connect Blackberry to EnGenius EOC Access Point - BB keeps saying it fails to get an IP address from the AP - how do I fix?

It sounds like your AP is not set up to be a DHCP server. If you want to use devices with your AP that expect to receive addresses over DHCP, then you either have to enable the DHCP server on your AP, or enable one somewhere else on your network to which your AP provides access.

Ap mode

Ignore the rumors. It's perfectly simply to converse with your APs through a browser. I do it daily. What may be throwing off your informant is that the default IP address of this unit changes from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2 when it is switched into AP mode, as documented in the accompanying manual. But a conscientious net admin isn't going to leave the units at their default addresses anyway.

Restoring engenius EOC 8610 to factory default

Resetting the older beige Engenius radios requires a screwdriver and a USB-to-serial cable. You must unscrew the small plate at the bottom, which covers a serial connector. Plug the serial cable into it and then into your computer. Follow these instructions to perform the reset:
