Question about AdobeAir Evaporative Cooler Direct Drive

1 Answer

I need a new valve/floater but no place seems to carry the right size for my AdobeAir Evap Cooler, Model ES830E, Serial J03280314. The connector is larger than most but doesn't seem to be the standard, is it 1/8'' or 3/8''? I can't remember bc it was a week ago. But, whichever one Home Depot told me it was, they didn't have one that size. They had a black floater that appeared to be the correct size until I looked more closely and saw that mine still had a larger opening than the black one, meaning where it connects to the copper pipe. Help! I just need to buy this part but don't know where to get it!!!! Home Depot doesn't have the right size and neither does a pool supply store. I can't use the swamp effectively bc the floater isn't working so the water is just overflowing and flooding my rocks and neighbors yard. I also can't seem to be able to find a working AdobeAir number to call them directly for the part. Thanks!

Need parts, pump for a ED630J adobe swamp cooler in las vegas, nevada

A swamp cooler PUMP is not really model specific. They are basically small submersible pumps. Contact ANY swamp cooler dealer in LV, tell them you have a 4500 CFM unit and need a pump.
The pump part number for this size cooler is: PN 110436 (there are several alternates)

Contact these folks and tell them what you need:
National Cooler ' Swamp Cooler
3046 Vegas Dr.Suite 1
Las Vegas, NV 89106
(702) 638-8800

If they can not help you... just look under cooling and air-conditioning in the yellow pages and find a dealer near you. This pump is common to nearly every brand in LV. You can most likely buy one at the local home depot, menards, or lowes.
There is also a Little Giant CK-5 "UTILITY"pump that is used for swamp coolers.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

How to clean water tank

Go to Lowes-Home Depot-Ace Hardware. In the evap cooler section they'll have a bottle of scale remover for sale. Just follow the directions on the bottle.

Does it need to be cleaned, if so. how is that done? AdobeAir /Mastercool model P700 serial number B150809633

Yes, it needs to be cleaned. Go to your local home store and (in the evap cooler section) pick up a bottle of evap cleaner/scale remover. Just follow the directions on the bottle. It will last MUCH longer with proper care and cleaning.

Po446 evap vent code where is the evap vent located

Some might have an ses p0446, evap emissions vent circuit low. If you take it to the dealer they want 300-400.00 to fix the problem. GM has a service bulletin on this condition and have the updated part for 180.00, thats suppose to eliminate this issue.

Basically the problem is, the evap purge vent valve gets clogged with dirt, especially if the truck is used in dirty conditions. Well I figured there had to be a cheaper way to cure this problem.

Here it is:
1) find the location of the vent valve; its under the truck, locate the charcoal canister on the front of the gas tank and trace the vent line to the vent valve.
2) Take the bracket loose with a 5/8 wrench.
3) Spin the valve around so the side with the hole is facing you.
4) Take an air compressor and blow the vent valve out.
5) reinstall and clear the code and it's fixed.

Now I know the updated part from gm is supposed to keep the valve from clogging ever again, but why spend the money when all you have to do is blow out the vent valve every 50k-100kmi and save your $$$!

Does anyone know how much energy the traulsen urs48dt should be using per day/month or year? Note that the compressors in my case have moved to the garage which I assume impacted efficiency. I love the...

Ok, next question, when he replaced the compressors, did he modify the evap sections with TX Valves and remove the cap tubes? Per Traulsen specs, all remote units are factory set with TX valves while local units are equipped with cap tubes. If this modification was not done, it may be your cause of excessive electical consumption. Then again, re-reading your recent post, the compressors were changed to 3/4 hp? From Traulsen specs your unit came with a 1/6 fridge compressor and a 1/3 freezer compressor, is that correct? Electrical consumption on these are URS48DT 11.2 Amps 1/6 HP & 1/3 HP (1288 watts) at full load, while a 3/4 compressor is 14.9 amps 3/4 HP (1713.5 Watts) at full load X2 = 3527 Watts, or about 3 times original. I may be off target, but from what I can assume, I am beginning to think your compressors are over sized, drastrically and that the evap units may not have been modified to TX Valve. Let me know if this helps or if there is any additional information you can provide. Current compressor model numbers, previous compressor model numbers, complete unit model/serial number would all be a help in determining your exact specifications.
Thanks
Richard

Air coming out of an adobeair portable evap cooler isnt cold

paula298,
A new unit will take a while for the pad to become wet and more efficient. Remember, there may be two switches: fan and water pump. The unit must be full of water and the pump ON to work correctly.

If the unit has a water pump only setting, run the pump without the fan for about 20 minutes. That will get the pads nice and wet and you should get a good result. A rule of thumb in the desert is 20 to 25 degrees of cooling compared to the ambient air.

Don't use a cooler in closed area. The cooler will simply act like a room humidifier. Use in an open garage or porch for the best result.

I hope that helps.
