Question about Dell XPS 600 PC Desktop

1 Answer

My dell mouse cursor keeps freezing on the right side of my computer screen. For no apparent reason, the cursor slips over to the right side of the screen. I am unable to move it back. It is as if it wants to go when I try to move it, but it simply will not.

what kind of mouse is it? I mean is it optical or ball mouse, wireless or wired, usb or ps2? Are you using mousepad or not? Is the platform on which mouse works glossy? In cae you have a spare mouse .. let me know if it is the same case with all the mice or this specific mouse. Waiting for your response. Regards, Srinivas.

How can i make my cursor respond using the inbuilt touch . it stopped and i have to use mouse

You have to reload the software and the drivers for the touch pad. Often the name of the drivers and the program that runs the touch screen may not seem apparent. If you have the disks that came with the computer, start with the drivers and utilities disk and re-install all driver files. That should get the hardware listed. you should also check your device manager (start button, right click computer, click properties, click on hardware tab and then click on device manager) for any yellow or red icons. The device manager will show you on a tree, all the hardware working on your computer.

The cursor on my pc freezes..

Temporary Solution

1) Click Start, then Click Control Panel

2) Double Click Mouse

3) Enable the cursor trail

You will be able to see your mouse, even after the original cursor freezes on screen.

Steps that can fix the problem.

This may also solve your problem. ONLY do if you are sure that you know how.

1) Right Click on MyComputer icon. Then Click Properties.

2) Click on Hardware Tab, then Click on Device Manager.

3) Uninstall your mouse AND keyboard. Connect your mouse directly to the USB.

Then reboot your computer (restart) and let the mouse reinstall automatically.

Keep your computer in shape and you will have less problem

Mouse cursor moves by itself

two reasons : 1> your mouse is extra sensitive, go to control pannels and then mouse and lessen the speen of ur pointer. 2> you're using some cloth or some soft area as ur mouse pad, such things slip easily, try using a proper MOUSE PAD

My mouse keeps freezing

Blue screen is not a good sign at all. It can man alot of things, the driver is not right, you have a virus on your computer, or someone is in your computer. I would go and get and good firewall program or use xp or vista firewall. If that doesn't work then you do have virus. I would do a complete refresh on the system longest you have the recovery disk.

Mouse cursor moving by itself

In windows xp go into start menu, then into control panel then click on appearance and themes, then move your mouse over to mouse pointers click on it , uncheck "enhance pointer precision, and click apply, that will stop the mouse from acting crazy, this will work with dell mouse pointers and most.

Mouse cursor moving by itself

i have latitude c610 and same problem happens with me too. i think that happens when i finish my brakfat and without cleaning my hands start using the touch pad. what happens according to me is that small particles of food(eg bread/dust particles) stuck in the corners or the body wall where the touch pad ends and keeps pressing the touchpad, thus causing the mouse to move to one direction. when i clean the corners and sides of the touchpad, it starts working ok !!

thanks
Johal
