Wireless network adapter suddenly AWOL

I have the same amber light problem as the other guy; no matter which way I flip it, it won't turn on. Started just today. The only difference is I haven't tried hitting my computer to fix it...at least not yet. I even took the internal card out per the instructions of HP chat support, but it did nothing. Wireless Assistant won't start, the device does NOT show up on device manager, and trying to reinstall the driver (Broadcom), Wireless Assistant (both through Vista recovery), or using a system restore point to four days ago (when I was sure it was working last). I'm about to haul it into Best Buy which is the closest authorized service center, but I've read how so many people are having this problem; is there a relatively inexpensive fix? I need wireless for when I'm on the road!

ok, I've steeled myself to replacing the wireless card. Heck, I just took it out last night, and I replaced my laptop screen (my fault) last week, so I have no fear about using my screwdriver. My question is, should I go with the Broadcom 441090-001 WLAN, or is there something that would work better that would be fully compatible? If I'm spending $70, I'd like to get the most bang for my buck. What's your recommendation?

I just bought a Belkin wireless router for my internet to connect with my microsoft xbox 360 wireless adapter. the light turns on the adapter but it is a amber color and not red or green like always...

I've never heard of a Wireless Adapter turning amber or orange? This can be a simple light problem inside your Xbox 360. If it were fixed, the highest possibility is that color should be red. If so, this means the connection is not strong enough to your modem, and adapter. You will have move your Xbox 360 console closer to your wireless modem for the connection to be the best.

This is my second dockstar, and both have just gone to rapid blinking amber lites. seagate doesn't really tell you any thing.

moz-screenshot.pngmoz-screenshot-1.png1-If you never shut off the device try to turn off for 4 hours and try to use it again.
2-The bottom light must flash when is on,if not you have a power supply or net cable problem.
3-If the top light is amber is indicate you have a disk problem
4-Do a power cycle
5-if the problem continues run the disk diagnosis utility from the web interface
6-If fails the drive needs replacement, check for warranty
7-Try to do a system reset.Press and hold the switch( a small hole at the bottom of the Ethernet) until the top front light flash and allow the unit to restart.

Can't connect my gaming adapter to my wireless network

If the ethernet light -( )- is off, flip the X - II switch to its other setting.

If the wireless light is off, click on the channel button, it should me IN. If still cannot connect, then you will need to setup the wireless settings of the gaming adapter.

First, you need to know the wireless settings on your wireless router or access point. Take note of the wireless network name (SSID) and wireless security settings.

Connect the gaming adapter to the router using an ethernet cable. Flip the switch on the adapter to straight through (II).

Then insert the Setup CD of the WGA11B to your computer. Click on the Setup button once the wizard is up. It will then show you the current settings, so just click next.

It will ask you for the password of the adapter, just type admin.

Make sure that Obtain IP address automatically is selected, then click next.

On the Profile configuration, select Internet for the mode.

Then enter the SSID and select WEP if wireless security is enabled on the wireless router. Type the passphrase of the WEP key. Then click No to complete the configuration.

Connect the gaming adapter back to the PS2.

Good luck!

My HP wireless doesn't work? I don't have wireless connection on my compaq laptop anymore.

check your wireless adapter is on... the switch is on the front of your laptop and you should show a blue light when it's on, also go into device manager and see network adapters.. you should have 2 (the wire one built-in and your wireless network adapter.. if you only have one network adapter, check the front and see if the light indicating the status of your wireless network adapter is amber.. (if it's showing amber and you're sure it's in the on position you may have a motherboard problem and you may need to send the system back (I just had one of those with a compaq computer and since the item was within warranty the fixed in a week)

if your wireless adapter light is blue and you see your wireless adapter in device manager follow this instructions and you should be ok,
