Hey there, the front of the thermostat is clipped onto the part attatched to the wall. It should pull off and then you will see the battery right there. Some models have a compartment in the top left corner that pulls out sideways to reveal the battery, let me know if this helps or you need something else.

Honey thermostat RTH6500WF IS BLANK SCREEN

Change the battery in your thermostat first. The next likely issue would be condensation not draining. I would bet your air handler is in your hot humid attic. That means you have a drip pan under it and likely a tube from the air handler leading to the out side to allow condensation to escape to the outside of your home. On that tube from the air handler, there is a float switch which tells the A/C system to shut off so condensation does not back up into your house and ruin your insulation or ceilings. That is likely why your thermostat goes blank. The tube that drains condensation from the air handler to the outside builds up a slimey substance over time (especially in high humidity) and that clogs your drain tube. Using a shop vac, either blow the tube out or suck it out. Manually reset the float (should be down). You can find the float in the tube simply because it "should be" the only thing on the tube that has wires coming from it. Reset your thermostat using the switch for your A/C in your fuse box.

My central heating is not working. ihave honey well mercury 20v thermostat

You can easily check the thermostat by jumping across the R & W terminals. If the furnace fires your problem is the thermostat. If not, the issue is with the furnace or the wire between the thermostat and furnace. I can walk you thruogh a dignostic check but you will at least need a volt meter.

Screen freeze

Try pushing hard and steady on the bottom, left side of the thermostat, if it unfreezes, it means that the ribbon connection from the base to the touch screen is loose. you can try to wiggle it, but usually it will not stay fixed and the thermostat must be changed.
I'm very sorry.
Sincerely,
Paul Gibson

I have amanual honey well and I want to change it to a programable honeywell but the two wires on the manual thermostat are not labeled, so I don't know where to connect the wires to in the new thermostat

Wires for thermostat control circuits are normally color coded. Check for proper connections at the furnace and connect the same colored wires that you find at the furnace to the like lettered terminals on the new thermostat. R to R, W to W , Y to Y , ans G to G. R is for power to the thermostat, W is for heating, Y is for cooling and G is for furnace fan operation.

Give this number a call if you are in the US, 800-341-0110. You will need the COMPLETE model number not just 230B. Something like YRTH230B1009. They can link you a manual via email.
