How to restart alcatel phones

My phone is not working well, i may have to have it restarted but i dont know how..thnx
i activated the phone security setting of my alcatel c552 but when i turn it on it just display the alcatel logo then it wont start and switch off by itself. can anyone help me with this problem,thanx

-   My  SCH u 740 is not turning on, it starts up trying to turn on then just turns off and automatically starts over, ***** turning completely on to the main screen.  I've heard text messaging can do this, is there anyway to fix it ? thanks  -   Guest
