When they are running in a cycle does the water circulate while it is making ice ,mine has ran great for year and half and now just goes into falt mode it fills with water then then the pump shuts down

Could be 2 different problems. Inlet water valve is a dual valve (2 halves). 1 half feeds water to the door dispenser, the other half fills the icemaker. The icemaker half could be bad or blocked up with sediment causing a no fill situation. 2nd problem could be the icemaker itself which sends power to the inlet valve when it needs filled. Usually the inlet valve fails first but you need to test and see.

After the cleaning cycle, if you drained the tank to get rid of the cleaning/descaling solution, you will have to refill the machine for the initial start. The normal freeze/ harvest cycle will normally fill the unit after the initial start. I have seen several ice makers with this same initial problem.
If this is not the case and your reservoir is full of water, then check water supply to make sure water will flow all the way into the reservoir. Sometimes the makeup water solenoid fails and need replaced. So if cleaning cycle works and fills, solenoid operated water valve is not the problem. If would mean some electric component is not working. The on/off/clean switch not sending on signal. The board, which is located under the top panel of the cabinet, may have a bad contact on the board. Another possibility is the water level sensor may not be in contact with the water. Most units will not start if the water sensor is not in contact with the water level. It normally looks like a metal probe and has a wire connecting to it to the control board. You will have a 60-90 fill cycle, then circulate, then another 60-90 fill, then on to ice making. When Ice making starts all remaining functions come on, such as the condenser fan, and compressor. Check for these functions after the initial fill/rinse/fill has finished. if the condenser fan comes on but the compressor does not, you very well may need a control board located behind the on/off switch panel. With constant heavy loads/usage, and or a dirty condenser coil the compressor relay solder joints often become weak and short open on the board, this can sometimes be fixed by just cleaning and re-soldering the relay joint on the board. Make sure that the freezer fan is working and circulating the cold air. Then check the damper assembly to make sure that cold air is being circulated into the refrigerator. And lastly make sure that the self defroster is working - if not the evaporator will freeze up, freezer temps go up, and ice maker will not work if freezer temps are 10 degrees or higher. A digital refrigerator thermometer will confirm freezer temps being high.

If that is the model number above your post let me know or if different. Most times the dual water control valve sticks or or may need to replace. Place water in the trays and if it freezes cycles and dumps the ice maker is OK but the ice maker during is last few seconds of cycle tells the valve to open. If it is banging after it shuts off or cycles you may have a noisy compressor.It can happen during a move or if it droped.Hope i helped:)

Have you checked to assure the long narrow hose that comes from the upper lback left corner is attached both on top and inside the water tray? This drove me nuts for 3 hours.
