Question about Avaya Partner Transtalk 9040 cordless phone: Additional or Replacement Handset

Our avaya 9040 was shutting off when you removed it from the charger so someone told us it was the battery, we purchased a new one and now it wont even turn on?

You need to contact your Avaya Business Partner to verify whats wrong with this phone. Chances are you bought a Gray Market equipment. So find your local guy on www.avaya.com

Laptop is not turning on after I change my laptop charger. I remove the battery and plug in my new charger it works fine but suddenly shut off. I put the battery back and plug the charger in. No good.


You need to check the charger, I do not think it is any good as the charging power is in the charger unit not the computer. It sounds as if the battery in the computer is totally dead and that is why it shut down. Hope this helps.

Power shuts down


Try another power outlet. Try a different Micro USB. Remove the battery and place it on a table, give it a spin and if it continues to spin, you may need a new battery. Just eliminate all other possibilities before you go out and make a purchase on a new battery. E-bay is always a big help!

D70 will not power up. I had the charger tested and was told that it was fried. I charged the batteries and there is still no power. Is the next step to replace the batteries?


Forget the charger
get a charged battery and test your camera if that works
then you can pick up a charger at best buy real cheap.

Power drain would be a better solution in this case.
1.first shut down the comp
2.unplug the charger
3. remove the battery
and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery.After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer .

I think the problem is with the charger, if you can visit your dealer , check out another charger in the shop, and get a replacement.

When i put the charger in it it wont charge and it wont turn on. It will turn on for 2seconds and shut off when the charger shutts off


Bad battery. The charging circuit for a DS is in the battery and cannot be serviced. Purchase a new battery and if that doesn't solve it send DS in for repair

How do i resolve the error: use genuine battery. power off


A temporary fix to the problem is to put the battery in the freezer for a minute and then put it back in the phone and it will turn on just fine! I had an LGVX8700 and it just randomly started happening one day and my fiance told me to try doing that so i did and sure enough it worked. I had to go to verizon at one point to get a new phone because the one i had got damaged and the tech there used the same battery in my phone for the new one and he thought i was crazy when i told him to put the battery in the freezer but he was in for a surprise when he did what i told him and my phone turned on. It's annoying because you have to do that everytime your phone shuts off but i always made sure i plugged it into the charger before it went completely dead.
