Question about BenQ MP611C DLP Projector
My BENQ MP611C works fine right at the start, but after some 20 min. or so the video projection disappears, the lamp stays lit, and only a very faint, dark, empty screen is shown up front on the wall; neither video nor OSD gets shown at this point. I then have to turn it off completely and (after a couple of minutes of rest) turn it on again, and once more the projector starts working correctly, but after a similar lenght of time of good performance the video suddenly goes blank again, and so on. And no, the built-in timer does not seem to be related to this problem, since this happens whether its on or off (I tried both ways). I even placed a big fan near the projector to improve ventilation to it, but the results were exactly the same. I lack the user's manual, so I do not know whether the problem could be related to some kind of initial configuration. I have been using the S-Video input only, feeding videos from my laptop. Any clue to what the problem might be? All help in this matter will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
This happened to me once, it turned out to be the visual settings of the graphics card. In my case it was an Nvidia card and the softare allows you to have a different setting per monitor. All of the contrast, brightness, and well, all the settings were all the way down, but only for the Benq. I turned them all up and saved, now it works great. It was just like you described, a very, very faint image was visible. I suspect my graphics driver was updated, and the projector settings were somehow set to zero.
