Question about Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6835 Notebook

System crashes with video web chat

I have a Toshiba A305-S6837. Every time I attempt to video chat online, my entire system crashes and shuts down within 5 minutes or less. I have double/triple-checked my firewall settings, and have deleted and downloaded Skype at least 3 times. So far, I have tried using Skype, Google video chat, and AIM video chat--ALL three cause my system to crash within 5 minutes of establishing a chat session. Any ideas? Very frustrating.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

If you have used BitLocker, when you go to BitLocker you will need the password laid down by the administrator or owner of the laptop before you can de crypt the files.

Please, i keep experiencing power offs any time i plug-in. it only works in safe-mode or when run on battery. laptop type-toshiba satellite A305-S6837

Hi There,

You can try and resolve this by booting in safe mode and clean up the startup items (this problem could caused by an unwanted program running in the background).

Here's how :

1. Boot to safe mode only.
2. Go to "Run" and type "msconfig"
3. Click on the "startup" tab and hit "disable all"
4. Restart your computer and see if it resolves the problem

If these steps is not of any help, then there is that need to backup all important data from your drive and re install the entire operating system.

I certainly hope this helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

My laptop Toshiba A305-s6837 will not boot - when I tried to take back to brand new out of box system crash. Now indicates windows /system32 winlaod exe missing or corrupt. Did not make up back...

OK try this, insert the installation disc and proceed to the repair OS screen, and select command prompt. Once in the command prompt;
Run bootrec
You will see a number of options;
/repairmbr
/repairbcd
/osscan
Run bootrec /repairbcd
Answer Y once repairbcd has found the desired installation. You should recieve the message, "All tasks completed successfully"
Run bootrec /osscan
If osscan returns an OS that is not linked, that is a vista OS, you will need to;
Run bootrec /repairmbr
Repairmbr is fully automated. There is no need to explain it here.
