I have lenovo 3000 y500 laptop. My problem is its not booting from any cd.
though its reading other Cds and DVDs fine but its not reading any bootable cd. when i insert a bootable cd it shows 0 bytes free and 0 bytes used.
i tried 3 different bootable Cds (win XP-2, Win Xp-3, Win 98)
its showing the same error for all of them.
I even have done the seeting in bios to boot from Cd first. But it waits for some time and i can see the light and hear cd from Cd drive but it boots from Hard drive again.
But i know that drive is finr cause its reading other CDs and DVDs. But not reading any Bootable or setup (Ms office and nero) CDs.
You can check by disabling all other driver to boot except from cd rom. if it fails again then try with a new bootable cd written in low speed, if still it fails then try with a new rom
