Personally I would suggest leaving it in the charger maybe even overnight because if I'm not mistaken it should turn green when it is fully charged. good luck

Greetings Gurus. I have Makita charger model DC18RC, battery model is 18v BL1815...manual is of limited help. I'm trying to understand what the indicator lights mean, what the time is for charging,

I agree that the pictographs are not very helpful. You probably have one of the new chargers. I have an old one, which is a little easier to figure out.

From top to bottom

1. The flashing green light with the electric plug indicates that the unit is plugged in and ready to go.
2. The flashing red little fan means that the battery is too warm so it is just cooling it and not charging it at that moment.
3. The solid red empty battery outline means that it is charging but hasn't got very far, less than 80% full.
4. The mostly full battery outline with both solid red and green lights at the same time means it is 80% full or more
5. The full battery outline and solid green with the musical notes means it is full up.
6. The broken battery outline with flashing red and green means you've got a broken battery.
7. The yellow light with the wrench means the charger is "conditioning" the battery, whatever that means.
8. The yellow light with the fan means "cooling abnormality."

Hope this helps

My baby monitor won't charge - it's not even recognizing the charger as plugged in -- the red light doesn't go on any more??

shut it down and restart and see if it takes the charger ..usually there is nothing that makes the camera behave that way but the charger ..either being damaged or the plug does not makes contact well ..check the wire not to be damaged and try another charger with the same specs ..exactly the same ..It is possible to be damaged if you let it in the plug for a long time ..
If it shows out that the charger is not to blame ..than it is a mater of plug need to be changed cause is damaged ..In worse case just open it and hot wire if you can not get a plug to match ..

Pronto M6 chair will not work. When the power switch is turned on, the LED light flash Red followed by three Green. I can't find what this error code meas.... Pls Help thanks Phil

Phil the red means battery is low and the green is a speed limit code because of the low battery if you have charged your batteries and you still get the red then you need to check the charger after charging all night does the yellow light on the charger turn green? if when you first plug in the charger if the red light is on and the other light is green then there is a problem with the wiring or connection to the batteries from the charger and you aren't charging the batteries. if when you plug the charger in and you get a red and yellow light then the charger is working but you don't ever ge a green light and the battery level gauge is still showing red then you need to replace the batteries Hope this helps

Replaced batteries in Jazzy 600 but they will not charge up.

doug then you could have received a bad battery or you have a charger problem or a charger circuit problem. If the chair comes on then the wiring is ok. when you plug the charger in do you have a green light and a yellow light on the charger? (when fully charged the light goes from yellow to green indicating full charge) If when you plug the charger in and you have a red and green light then there is a problem with the charging citcuit. I would contact your provider where you got the chair to have them check it out for you Hope this helps

Kodak Play Sport pocket video camera will not power up or charge new out of the box.

I had the same problem. Specifically, using a microUSB cable to charge the camera worked fine for a few uses. One time I let the battery go very, very dead. When that happened my camera would not charge when I plugged it into the computer or charger. The light on the power button never lit up either. I couldn't find a way to fix it until I tried this . . .

The fix I am about to describe is repeatable - works every time (for me). Unfortunately it is not easy for everybody to accomplish.

On the bright side, if you do this once and fix the problem then you should not have to do it again . . . well, unless you drain the camera battery too far again in the future.

Items needed:
1: A 3-terminal 3.6v battery charger for an external lithium battery pack. The unit must have clearly marked positive (+), negative (-) and temperature (T) terminals that allow alligator clips to be connected. I have such a charger for one of my old digital cameras. Remember to check that it charges 3.6v battery packs and has 3 accessible terminals that are clearly labeled.
2: Your camera's battery pack, removed from the camera.
3: Three wires with alligator clips on both ends. Ideally each would be a different color. Black, red and yellow will be used in this example.
4: A piece of stiff clay or similar substance that can be shaped.
5: I don't want to sound snippy, but you will need awareness of the risks and rules when dealing with electricity. For example, do not short the terminals of the charger. Do not use a charger that does not match the voltage of your camera battery. There are more "do not's" than I can list here. If you are unsure, "do not" do this.

Instructions:
1: If at any point the project starts getting hot, immediately unplug the charger and disconnect the wires. Do not apply power to the charger in until electrical connectons have been properly made. Consult a knowledgable person if you have any doubts. You might void your warranty if something goes wrong.
2: Place the camera battery into the clay to immobilize it. Shape the clay to allow the contact/charging terminals of the battery to be exposed. Save a spare piece of clay for later (read ahead to see how big).
3: Clip one end of your black wire to the negative terminal of the battery charger.
4: It is impossible to "clip" the other end of the wire to the battery. Instead, use the spare piece of clay to hold the wire in a position where the correct terminal of the battery can be "leaned" against the wire.
5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the positive terminal of the charger and battery, using the red wire.
6: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the "T" terminal of the charger and battery using the yellow wire.
7: Inspect the product carefully. Your project must be able to sit still without shorting, etc for about 1/2 hour or so.
8: Carefully plug in your charger, and avoid disturbing your wires.
9: The charge indicator should illuminate on the charger. If all is well, monitor (I mean really watch) your battery for about 1/2 hour while it charges up. Carefully feel the charger and battery for heat, especially at the beginning.

I don't recommend allowing it to charge for any longer than 1/2 hour. The point is to allow your battery to be charged just enough to fix the problem. It could be risky to attempt a full charge.

Theory behind the idea: The software running within the camera is responsible for configuring the USB port and internal circuitry to enter a charge cycle. That software only runs properly after the camera "boots up." In order for the boot process to complete successfully the battery must have enough power to sustain the unit for a few seconds. When the battery is "very drained" it will not supply enough power to the camera long enough to allow a complete boot process, therefore charging does not occur. This leaves the camera in an unusable state where it cannot be charged or turned on in any way. In my opinion this is a design flaw that could be easily overcome via software by raising the minimum threshold before the camera ceases to allow recording/playback.

It is a shame that Kodak has not come clean about this. For affected individuals, they may do well to ship out a new charged battery and a software update.

David, If you are not getting the yellow light on the charger then you have a problem with the charger. What voltage are you getting at the batteries when charging? You can check the charger by removing the end plate where the lights are to see if there is a fuse on the output side of the charger. if there is check to see if the fuse is blown. There probably is a fuse on the other end but since the red light comes on it is good. If you plug the charger into the charger port and put your ear to it you should hear a hum coming from the charger. Hope this helps you

NOT CHARGING BATTERIES

ok you need to zap the battery, if you have a jump box or a battery charger that has at least a 20 amp or better charge selection, like a engine start feature.

the post of the cordless batter has a center post marked on the sides is a plus or minus sign.
the should also be some vertical slits in the plastic post on the corners, clamp the leads from the jump box or battery charger positive to positive , negative to negative. with the car battery charger you can probably slip one side of the battery clip in the plastic slot the other on the connection blade. plug in the battery charger and let it on for 5 or 6 minutes. if the battery charger has a auto shutoff the light will blink off and on but that is ok .

take the cables off and plug into the battery pack charger now you should get a red charge light and now can charge the battery.

if light does not come on try it in the drill or saw and see if you had any more charge than before if so you might need to repeat the procedure and leave it on the car battery charger a little longer

Panasonic vx37

My old Panasonic Palmcorder IQ shows a red light in both switch positions-camera and VCR. Maybe yours has red for camera and green for VCR so you could tell them apart. I found that the Panasonic battery that came with the camera was the cheapest kind with the least charging time. I bought other batteries, they were good for a while, but now, many years later, they won' t hold a charge. Since I am only recording inside of my house, I have resorted to using the AC wall socket for power. I have to take the battery out of the camera. I found a power plug-in hole (like ones on cell phones) in the battery compartment. I also found one of these holes on my battery charger. My camera came with a double ended power plug. I plug one end into my camera and the other end into the battery charger. I plug the charger power cord into the wall outlet, and I have power to my older camera. Maybe you can find this double ended power cord at a store or on line.

Did you know that there are 2 kinds of batteries? Some have memories and others do not rely on a memory. The ones with memories have to be fully discharged or they will only charge a little, and keep charging less and less each time they are charged. The ones without the memory can be charged fully without being discharged fully. Check into battery information on line to get more information. Maybe you can get the non-memory kind.

My motorola H700 keeps staying red when charging

Wait, how long have you waited for it to charge? It's supposed to stay red until over 80% charge, then switch to yellow. When it is fully charged, it goes to green. When you mean it stays red when plugged in, have you waited the 2 hours?
