Question about Infinity BASSLINK Car Subwoofer

Basslink Powerlight comes on then fades quickly

I have a Basslink that I am attempting to run but can not seem to get power. As far as I can tell the ground, Remote, and Batt. wires are correct. When I power everything up the red light on the sub/amp comes on very briefly and then fades out. Thoughts?

Check to make sure your remote wire is hooked up to your amp turn on that runs straight out of the stereo not your power antenna also make sur you have a clean ground(no paint or rust) and also check your connections make sure you have a strong connection to all wire hook ups.......you should check to see that your remote wire has no tears in it or small rips or cuts because that can interrupt your current to and from the amp and radio

Since this issue seems to only occur while playing games that suggests that it could be either bad RAM or a heat-related failure. Games can cause the processor and GPU (if you have one) to heat up quickly and sometimes this causes components to open or short, which is why you end up with a non-responsive PC. Also games can use a lot of RAM, which may be why the problem seems to only appear when playing games. You might be hitting a higher page of RAM that isn't reached any other way. One way to tell for sure is to run something on your PC that will stress the CPU, RAM and GPU (if you have one) and see if any of those tests fail. Prime 95 is good for CPU and RAM tests and 3DMark would be good for GPU tests.

Power light

Hi Bill, I believe the power problem is related to the Remote wire which should be blue or yellow. The remote wire is suppose the turn the Basslink on and off when the radio is turned on and off. The yellow wire is normally used for power antenna. Traditionally the remote wire is blue. You can use a Speaker level adapter and splice in with the L/R rear speaker wires, and the adapter will convert the speaker level to line level. The output of the adapter will go to the Rear speaker input on the basslink., Write back if you need more detail on the adapter.

Basslink works for a few seconds after i turn on the stereo, then it fades away. The servo light is always on even when i disconnect the input line and turn the knobs to the min level. What could be wrong?

Hello, check the +15v and -15v on the Switching Power Supply Control board. If one or both are missing, it is probably Q117 for +15v and Q118 for -15v. If one is missing the limit comparator will rail to one side and cause the auto variable volume control to trip the servo protection.

Is the light on the infinity basslink suppose to be red or green

Hello jmw3031,

The Basslink should have both a red power LED and a green servo LED. The red LED should be on when power is applied. The green servo LED should only come on during high-level bass transients. Turn the gain down slightly if it stays on for extended periods.

Hope this helps.

Power Never Comes on

that remote wire has to be hooked up to the power or the radio power antenna wire which will switch the remote wire on when the radio is turned on, so that remote wire really should be hooked to the radio wire that gets power when the radio is turned on , thats why the sub is not turning on

Red light comes on and then slowly goes out. No output

For some reason you are not getting constant power to the system. What gauge power/ground are you running? Describe your system to me and we'll see what I can do to help.

2nd Basslink, still no power-on. Please help

this is in response to the post below:

I just bot a basslink t and i wired it up and nothing it just keeps blowing the fues in the unit i got mine on ebay2.gif so i dont know if i can use the warranty dose anybody have an ida for me- britter623

I got a used basslink about a month ago and had the exact same prob kept blowing fuses...found out that the voice coil had blown on the infinity...so I had a brand new dvc polk 10 sittin in the closet, I swapped them out, put the polk in the place of the infinity sub, however, the magnet is much larger, hence, dual voice coil, it would rattle sooo much from the passive radiator against the magnet, also could not turn the gain up at all due to the rattle. I got the bright idea to build a "custom fiberglas enclosure for the polk and incorporate the infinity's parts(amp/control) I finished the box finally last night and hooked it up this morning, no power, no lights, no nothing! s@#%, F&@%! ANyone had a prob w/the amp not having the lights turn on, no power??? Hope that helps about your fuse blowing issue.

No power

Hi,

Other than the +12V, the ground (-) and the 2 RCA inputs, normally external amps have also a remote trigger which switches it to active on. The remote trigger is activated by a wire from the head unit. Colors would either be yellow or blue but depends on manufacturer of head unit. Alternately, you can connect a simple toggle on/off switch to activate the external amp.

Additionally, pls verify that the 2 RCAs from your head unit are audio out and not audio in for aux source.

Good luck and kind regards.
