Question about VCRs
I bought an orion model vpdc recorder on the internet the advertisement did not say anything about the limitations on connections on this model. But I received the vcr and the installation instructions pasted on the vcr says "this player will only operate onuhf capable tvs . Incidentally this seems to have been rented by the seller . My tv which I bought recently from Dick smith is model noG6021. it si a colour tv .HOw do I connect the vcr to the tv as I have a surveillance camera connected .
Most, if not all, TV sets which have a tuner section (will tune in individual channels either off an antenna, cable system etc.) should be UHF capable. UHF channels are approximately channels 14 - 83 of the standard broadcast spectrum, unless this has now changed with HDTV or other RF spectrum changes by the FCC. These channels are not the same as the cable channels, for which the mode of the TV set must be set.
Anyway, you will connect the VCR to the RF input of the TV, and set the TV for non-cable mode (broadcast). You will likely need to set the TV for a particular channel which matches what the VCR sends the signal out on.
I assume also the VCR doesn't have composite video out & audio out jacks on it? If it does, these hookups can be made to matching connections on the TV.
Hope this helps.
