Replace the fan in the amp, sounds like the amp is overheating and the cut off is kicking in... you can try the amp while not driving and the car parked, put a fan, like a desk fan where the amp is so it flows over the amp fins, and run the amp turn it up and let it work, see if it still shuts off after that, if so then it could be something internal nut sounds like it is the fan to me... and i have worked with many an amp and system in cars and trucks... hope this helps you

Why did speakers get really loud, then stop working?

Have you checked the fuse on the amp and/or make sure the amp did not burn out?

Rockford Fosgate T15004 The Amp still powers up with the

Check you inputs to verify you have a signal coming in, if signal then check outputs try a speaker that you know is working and plug it in if that speaker plays then the subs/ or speaker wiring is bad, if it doens't play then you probably have a blown output transistor on the amp or possibly a terminal ground/positive has come loose on the inside..

I have been having trouble with my car stereo system

First reinspect your power and ground connections, vibration may have loosened them.

Then be sure that amp location has proper ventilation, (overheating will cause shout down)
A 2400 in a closed space will definitely need exhaust fans to help circulate cool air around the amp.

The cap should be mounted close to the amp and properly charged before use. It is connected in-line with the main power lead paying close attention to the power in and power out terminals.

Power in = from the battery
Power out = to the amp

Good luck

make sure you ground wires arent shared, meaning run each ground wire from each amp to its own grounding point

If the wires were touching then the amp overworked itself into a early grave..What happends when they touch is the amp goes from seeing a 4 ohm load to seeing a 0 ohm load. You can imagine why this would be bad for a amp...usually the amp should shut off to protect from damage and I would assume that Rockford would. Right now im having a similar problem..I suggest your call rockford and ask to talk to a technical advisor ( the name escapes me) and ask him what he thinks.
