I have a boss bv9992 in dash dvd video system that seems that most of my features dont work and it will not play cds or dvds in it! i also cannot find the user manual for it. can anyone help me to get this thing to work right and possibly know where i can download a user manual for it

Most bluray players have 2 eyes....one for dvds and cds and one for blurays. If cleaning by hand dont work reader could have gone bad.

You need to get a dvd/cd player that sends Bluetooth. The Boss has a built in receiver for that.

Take it back and get your money.

If cleaning did not fix it the optical pickup for that unit is damaged in some way---if the set has audio/video INPUT jacks on it just buy a DVD player and hook it to the set.

If no jacks you are finished--DVD portion of the unit if available costs more than the entire set.

most sony CD and DVD players have a digital signature design to play CDs and DVDs that are original and licensed. some CDs or DVDs dont work since the player does not recognize or scan any digital signature embedded in the CD or a DVD. 2nd, lens problem causes most players not to read CDs nor DVDs. you can try to buy CD or DVD lens cleaners to have your lens cleaned.

Your cd/dvd lens is bad, wont read. Swap it if you have warranty or buy a new player.

Some players are picky with certain cdrw/dvdrw discs. You might have to experiment with different brands/types for your discs. I used to have a cd player (teac) which would just refuse certain brands cd-r discs but play others just fine. I know it sounds odd, but once I noticed which ones work and which ones don't I never looked back.
Also, have the "problematic" discs been recorded on just one recorder? Have you tried playing discs recorded on a different recorder?
Also - I'm sure you've already tried it-it's always a good idea to clean the laser just in case.

This is normally caused by a dirty lens. It will play cds because they are easier to read, but dvds use the whole lens to play. You need to run a lens cleaner in your system and it will work like it should.

you have to make sure your player supports the format your using on the dvds/cds.possible formats iso,avi,mp3,mp4 ect ect

I have a 7in in dash dvd player but it does not want to play cds or dvds. it gives me an error notice. it won't even eject the cds. Where can I fix it?
