Cub cadet Z Force 48 inch zero turn blades won't engage

Cub cadet Z Force 48 inch zero turn. Was cutting grass, pulled both levers back to back up and turn around, blades re-engage. Diagnosed no fire to PTO. Replaced PTO switch. Cut grass 1-1/2 hours, everything worked fine until pulled levers back to back up, blades went off, never re-engaged. Need help with problem, haven't found anybody yet that can help. Thank you, Joshua

I hope this will help you...under the side panels on each side of the mower, there are "reverse lockout safety switches", they are supposed to stop the blades when both handles are pulled back. If one or both of the switches are out, the deck will not engage. Also, under the right side panel (when sitting on seat) there should be 3 relay switches, the one closest to the motor controls the PTO., if this is out, the PTO will not engage.

My RZT 50 turns blades on when levers are pulled back instead of shutting of and shuts off when in forward position ? could it be a switch is bad if yes what switch?

Sounds like someone has been working on the wiring, probably trying to bypass the reverse cut out switches . If you follow your steer control lever down under the plastic console covers there will be a switch, one on each steer lever by where it hinges. I don't think the switch is bad because it would not work at all if it was.It is like a door bell switch, when you pull back on the steer control lever it pushes it in and disconects the circuit to the PTO switch and the blades quit until you push them forwards and lets the curent through again. Also check the push pull PTO switch .Every safety switch on the tractor will meet at that switch and plug into it, . That model cub RZT50 has to have the worst switches ever made, but they are available and cheap on ebay. Plunger Switch 430362 430 362 for Cub Cadet Troy Bilt MTD 700 Series 725... I hit a metal pipe with my cub cadet zero turn lawn mower today. Now it smokes under the deck when I engage the blades and it is not cutting the grass. Have I ruined my mower?

You'll need to look under the deck w/ the mower not running and see why the blades aren't turning. Most likely something is bent (maybe blade) and hitting something. The smoke is probably from the belt slipping and getting hot.

I have a cub cadet rzt50 zero tudn. Blades are new and sharp but when i cut there is a trial of cut grass in the center of the mower tracks that is left behind. Mower is only a few years old with 100 hours...

if this started after the blades where replace make sure you have the right blades zero turn and reg mowers have different blades then check the bearings on the blade mandrels then last is to check for a rotted out deck with the belt tension pulling the blades apart

I HAVE A CUB CADET 50 INCH CUT ZERO TURN, WHEN YOU PULL THE PTO SWITCH TO ENGAGE THE BLADES THE BATTERY WILL DISCHARGE.

Most likely a short. You have to look in the area where engage switch gets blades going. You will find a cut wire or wires that are touching metal. This will kill a battery very quick. Fix wire , tie up wire so this doesn't happen again, and off you go. GOOD LUCK.
