Magellan Has Been Freezing Up Since I Replaced the Charger

Hi, I was given a Magellan Maestro 3250 as a Christmas gift. The charger recently went bad. I replaced the charger, but now I can't get the device to work. The GPS function doesn't work right--for instance, starts giving me directions from a totally incorrect location, "freezes" and does not sense that the car is moving, and switches frequently from the map screen to the routing screen, even though I prefer to stay on the map screen. I was so pleased with the Maestro when it was doing what it was supposed to do, but now it's just slowing me down. Any ideas?

Magellan web page has a firmware upgrade for your 3250. It is Version 4.86 unless you already have it. If that doesn't help, go to there support page and at the bottom you can see if one of the questions on the page is something that is similar to your problem. If not you will be able to ask a question yourself. Good luck.

Magellan 4040 won't turn on or charge.

This is very common problem with this and many model of magellans.

Try the car charger.

Make sure
green light is on the car charger and let it plugged in for awhile, then hold the power button (up to ten seconds) until it starts..if that fails

The following Magellan 2000, 2200t, 2500, 3000, 3100, 3140, 3000, 3050, 4000, 4040, 4050, 5310 and the 6000 are known to have faulty dc connectors...if your Magellan
gps is not charging or will not power up, its most likely the dc power port...

You can
buy the port or get it repaired, HERE

if the links dont work or If you need further help, just let me know.

My magellan 1410 will not turn on

plug it in to either the home charger or the car charger for a few minutes,(is the green light on, on the car charger) then press the power button for up to 15 seconds.if that fails, try a hard reset. little pin hole on the side(use a paper clip) if that fails you might have a bad usb connector. which is a very common problem with this model and many others.

let me know if it works out for you. bill

Magellan Maestro 3250 wont power from car charger. Get message screen that says unit is connected to computer via usb port, and to see instructions in computer program. Will not let you back out of that...

Hi, as I have been in the situtaion with many electronic devices before I know how frustraing it can be when the car charger doesn't work any more. For every one out there reading this post if this happen to you again take the car charger portion that you put in the lighter for a charge, the part the goes in will unscrew, check the fuse. 99% of the time that fuse has blown and that is the cause of the unit not getting a charge, if replacing the fuse does not work the it is a bad unit and you will have to get another gps.
