To replace the presser foot lever on an Elna 9000 Computer model sewing machine, follow these steps:

1. Raise the presser foot by turning the handwheel towards you until the needle is in its highest position.
2. Release the presser foot lever by pressing the button on the back of the presser foot lever and sliding the lever to the left.

When secure ensure that there is 10-20mm freeplayat lever end

cable broken or lever? if its the lever just replace it shouldnt cost too much.... if its the cable also replace this is slightly more difficult then the lever though.... both are possible to do yourself depending on how mechanocally minded you are... hope this helps

Follow the clutch cable downward until you get to the rubber bellows that covers the clutch cable adjuster. Slide the bellows up or down to gain access to the adjuster. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjuster inwards making the cable as short as possible.

Remove the pivot pin for the lever and rotate the lever forward. Positon the lever so that it will come off the cable end. Lubricate the cable end and replace the lever with the new one. Reposition the lever and install the pivot pin. Readjust the cable adjuster so that you have approximately 1/8" of free travel in the lever.

You simply remove any rubber covering on the lever to expose the lever assembly. Remove its holding bolts/nuts. Disconnect the clutch-wire from the lever.

Yes. You need to remove the crankcase cover, oil pump, brake lever and clutch to remove it.

Unless the old one actually broke, you can re-install it if it merely fell off. Use a mirror and a flashlight to see the hole on the side toward you so that you can re-insert the lever that goes towards the front, then re-insert the lever into the back hole. If the lever actually broke, the new lever will come with directions on how to install it.
