try this: start, run, type 'services.msc', look for Print Spool, right click on it and select Stop, wait ten seconds, right click on Print Spool and select Start. You should be able to cancel job now.

My printer won't print. it sends the jobs to the "queue" but doesn't do anything. what do i do?

First of all whatever jobs u have sent to the queue ... pause it and go to services.msc and stop the print spooler services ... minimize the page and delete the print jobs from the queue.... go back to services.msc.... restart the print spooler services..... if that does not work .... follow the detail link : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00843712&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=1138342

When i give the command to print , it doesnot

Go to the Control Panel>Printer and Faxes>Double click on "HP Officejet 5610" and check that is any pending jobs or not in queue.

If yes then delete all of them and then give the print command.

If the deleting will not happend then shutdown your pc and on it after 2 min and then try to print.

If this is not helpful then :
1) Check all the cable of printer that it is attached properly or not.
2) Remove the printer driver and restart your machine and than install the fresh copy of your printer driver.
