Question about Hunter 52" Ceiling Fan With Light And Remote Control

2 Answers

I have a hunter ceiling fan that is wired to a wall switch that controlled the fan and the lights. A control that I purchased wiith the fan was wired up under the canopy of the fan. It burned out and now I can not find a replacement for it. The control model is 22792. Accessory # 952G. This control allowed me to use a wall switch with only 2 wires. I controlled the fan and light by double clicking the wall switch. The control is 3" long,1 1/4" wiDE and 7/8ths" deep. If I use any larger contol, the canopy will not fit. Please someone help me.

If this item has been discontinued and you can't get the replacement control switch I will suggest that you have no other option but to replace with something similar even though you may need to do some modifications according to new dimensions...Try ebay and maybe you might be lucky else you will need a replacement for something close to it.

I had the same problem, and I removed the push switch and replaced with a lever switch. I completely removed the module you refer to above, and I shorted the black and black/white stripe wires with the incoming black. It works fine now.

Hunter ceiling fan/light unit install with 3 pole switches. there are 2 white, 2 black and one orange wires coming out of the electrical box. How do i handle the installation?

Not understanding, three pole switch is a wrong switch, wires in the ceiling or wall electric box.
Needed: What switch is existing and what wires are in the switch box and runs or groups in each run coming in as wire groups. Same for ceiling box, colors and wires in each run coming in.
Basically, remove the existing ceiling fixture and connect the ceiling fan replacing the fixture to the same wires the fixture was connected to. White to white, green or bare to green or bare, colored wire to fan's blue and black. Wired like this one switch controls both fan and light, on and off at same time. Use fan pull chain switch for individual fan or light control.

How to eliminate receiver/transmitter in hunter 28425

Open the box at the bottom of the ceiling fan, where the switch is. You should find the receiver inside there. You'll find one white wire connected to it, and two black wires also connected to it. Remove the white wire completely or cap it off with a wire nut. Connect the two black wires to each other with a wire nut. Reassemble the ceiling fan. If the problem was the receiver, then the problem is now gone because the receiver is gone.

Why my Hunter Ceiling Fan does not work?

Its unlikely that the fan is on a separate feed from the breaker box than the rest of the outlets in your room but you never know. It would not hurt to check all of your breakers. If the fan and its light are controlled by the same wall switch then the wall switch may have went bad. Within the fan there are separate wires for the fan and the light so both of them would not go out at the same time. It makes more sense that the problem is at your wall switch.

If you have a remote then you can't use the dimmer switch on the wall. Put in an on/off switch.

Hunter fan model 21617 remote fan won't turn on light from wall switch

You mean only the light? and the fan is working? Have you checked the light bulb? If it's ok, then checked on the wall switch. If is also ok, then probably there's is something wrong with the wiring in the fan.. It's either a bad or loose connection

Hunter ceiling fan

The usual house wiring for a ceiling fan with two wall switches , is white to white, black to black, and red to the other wire, usually blue or black striped with blue. If this fan has a remote , then it usually only requires one power wire, black and the white neutral.

Hunter ceiling fan-just installed -possible speed control problem

Sounds like the fan is defective. All internal wiring from the switch to the motor is factory installed. The fan has power going to it. Just to make sure, double check the wiring from the ceiling fixture to the fan.
Problem could be a faulty switch on the fan or faulty motor(bad winding for med. speed). Try reverse switch on the fan to operate the opposite direction and see if medium speed works. If medium does work in opposite direction, it pretty much points to a defective fan. In any case, unless you discover that the ceiling wires were reversed going into the fan, I'd say new fan to the returns dept.

Fan with remote won't work with wall switch. I

I just recently purchased a hunter ceiling fan w/light and remote. Had it installed and wall switch would not work, only remote. I contacted Hunter company directly about this problem and I was told that they redesigned their fans with remotes so that only the remote works for turning off power to fan. The person who made that made that BRILLIANT change should be fired. So to those of you who own a newer hunter an product with a remote ne your wall switch will not work tat s te reason why.
