You can't just replace it because it need programming for that car. It have to be programmed with the VIN Number and the mileage. There are very few reasons that you would ever change an ECU. The number is on a paper sticker on the outside.

It sounds like you have clutch issue if it's a manual stick shift or if it's an automatic it could be associated with your transmission..... I'd definitely recommend it being looked at my a mechanic asap

the big fuse box is under the hood and the little fuse box is located under dash just to the left of the steering wheel have a wonderful day

go to http://www.aldatadiy.com and purchase the service manual for your car, it will have 1000's of information that a book won't have and it will have all recall issues with the car and the location of any parts you may need to find and you can do it buy typing in a search and print out only what you need, saves money and you keep it for a year. I am not a mechanic and have had no problems with my 2005 Ion-2 but at msn/autos I see that these can exhibit a starting problem because of the ignition switch which they recommend replacing. The part is around $40 & the labor is 1 hr.

Probably something shorting out. This is something that probably isn't going to be easy to figure out. You need someone that can diagnose it in person
