I don't have the CD software that came with the camera. Can I get a down load? Do I need the CD that comes with the camera? I don't have the manual. Can I get a down load of the manual? where? How do I down load the pictures when the camera's connect to the computer USB? Is it an automatic down load or do I need the CD software?

help will be appreciated.

thanks

I have fixed my friends camera for her. This is how to fix it. Make sure the USB is connected to the computer and the camera. Go to MYCOMPUTER. You should see a Removable disk or Removable drive (E). Double click to open and it brings up a folder. DCIM. Click to open. It says IMAGE. Click to open. All your images should be in that file.

let me know if this worked for you or any one else.

The first time I plugged ours in (to a pc, with windows vista) a box automatically popped up to ask whether i wanted to view/open etc the pictures, so all fine. But... on the second time connecting nothing comes up, so you have to locate the pictures in the removable drive (as Alienfire says) each time. I've tried it on several pc's with the same result... most odd!

I have the manual right in front of me but believe it or not doesn't say much about downloading the pics at all. It just says something about connecting the camera to the computer with the usb cord. It says "Do not disconnect the camera or computer while the pictures are importing." I am lost!
I did not see a CD in the box either so the manual is pretty much useless for this question. Under troubleshooting it says when the problem is "Can Not Transfer Pictures to the Computer", the solution is "Check the usb cord. "?!?

I happened to have a drive mapped to the drive it normally uses for the digital camera so it didn't show up under My Computer (happened to be F: for me). Once I disconnected the other mapped drive, the camera showed up as Removable Media (F:). Be careful not to map a drive to the first several letter of the alphabet due to automatic mapping conflicts :)

on a mac, simply connect the camera to the mac using the usb cord. iPhoto (v 7 or later) will auto launch, and import  everything into the library. You can then easily manage, delete, and edit the photos.
