Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player

Beeps are slow???

I have an Iriver H10 5gb. The player is difficult to connect to my PC.
It beeps constantly, when i turn it on, from the player itself. I used to have Rockbox on it but i took it off cause the batt would last like 3 hours. A couple days ago I tried to put music on it and update the database, I use easy h10 w/UMS. I turned on the player and it showed 6 artist that aren't even on the player anymore for the data base. So I put Rockbox back on which wrote the database. Now I tried to reinstall the firmware and I did but it turned into a brick and wont even boot. I just got the firmware to update and it boots but it still beeps and I can barely get it to connect to the computer. I need HELP!
I've searched for months and posted on many forums.
Thank you for your feedback.

You need to first remove the front plate thing then (carefully!) place some coke on it, this should desolve any harmful rusting diodes that could be forming and disrupting your mp3 players electrical flow.

If this doesn't work, just give up and make a nice sandwich.

Beeping is never good - it's usually a sign that internal diode or some other hardware piece is defective. Better get a replacement.

For the heck of it, though, try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

I have a quanta 3082 MB in a HP Pavilion zd8230us laptop when I startup it beeps constantly got any ideas? anyone

The beeps with have a pattern to them. Listen closely when you first turn the laptop on and listen for the pattern. It might be something like 1-3-2 (1 beep, wait, 3 beeps in a row, wait, 2 beeps) It will repeat for listen for a bit to make sure you have the correct pattern. Once you have that pattern got to the HP webpage, in the support section, in the search type in "beep code errors". It will give you a list of beep patterns and tell you what the problem is. It could be the RAM, it could be another problem with the motherboard; those codes are what you need to have first.

I have a Compaq Cq60-104TU laptop with 2GB RAM and a 250GB hard disk. Windows XP service pack 3 is installed in it. Off late, whenever I turn on the laptop, I get this loud constant beeps. There are around...

Computers beeps are caused by the power supply, system board, graphics/video card or keyboard.
Reboot your system with out the keyboard if it no longer beeps your problem is a couple of stuck keys on the keyboard.
If the beeping continues remove your graphics card and reboot your system.
If your pc still beeps the it is either your power supply or the system board.

If your computer is beeping at you, 9 times out of 10 its going to be an issue with the memory or video. (more often the memory) Try re-seating both. If your still hearing the beep fest, below is a list of the most common beeps and what they refer to. This will help you to find out what needs replacing.

Long beep followed by 3 sequential short beeps. This issue is linked to your Graphic card configurations
Short beep followed by three sequential long beeps You are facing a system memory problem
Beep- PAUSE- Beep- PAUSE- Two sequential beeps This error is linked to your CPU
Three beeps-PAUSE-Three beeps-PAUSE-Four beeps You have an issue with the video memory
Three beeps-PAUSE-Four beeps-PAUSE-Beep This is linked to an error with your Graphic Card
Four beeps-PAUSE-Three beeps-PAUSE-Beep You have a system memory problem
Five short beeps You are facing a problem with your CPU
Long constant beeps It’s a system memory problem
Short constant and high-pitched beeps The temperature of your CPU is too high

Intel d101ggc making buzzer sound at equal intervals and then pc hangs.

OK this buzz is suppose to be a beep.
The device you described is called apezo electric speaker and is suppose to beep a post code to help define a problem.

If it's buzzing and not beeping there is either a fault with the piezo or the motherboard is not receiving the amount of power it needs to properly drive the speaker.

OK back to the post code. The patern is important it should be a series of long and short beeps. The fact that it is buzzing and not beeping may make it difficult to determine the difference between long and short beeeps.

Try your best to hear a pattern in it. Whether its constant beeps or 2 short 1 long or any other discernable variation please post back the number of beeps and if there is a long or short pattern.
please post back here

Thanks
Dave

Not getting software to connect iriver mp3 player to connect with pc

well...
the simplest player is windows media player 11 cos it sorts out all your songs into folders...
if your wanting to see the actual folders use iriver plus 3, it comes in the pack with the iriver. however the program is slow and doesnt work as effectively as wmp11.

Constant beeping and will not re-boot

Question- the beeping, is it short (1 second beeps) or long (2 or more seconds) and how many before it stops? or doesn't it? does it have any rhythm? The beeps correlate to some hardware problem, if you want to check the beeps yourself, just google "Bios beeps" and it will bring up a table of what the beeps mean.

System files - windows doesnt seem to now be able to detect iriver

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
