Generac ix 2000 gen overload indicator light will not shut off

get the OBD codes read to point to the problem switch/sensor or circuit

You are drawing to much power and if your not drawing any power and that light is still on then the breakers in the gen are toast

Change the breakers in the gen

Contact the Generac repair/service foks at:

Check all the fuses. Sounds like the inverter section has gone south

old gas or water drain system replace gas

TROUBLE CODE CLEARING

1. Follow the diagnostic procedures to service the fault condition flashing on the air bag indicator prior to code clearing.

2. Cycle the ignition switch to OFF and then to RUN.

3. Observe air bag indicator prove-out (six ? two seconds) followed by diagnostic trouble code (52-85) flashing completely one time.

4. Locate the Diagnostic "Trouble Code Clear" Connector (grey connector). located underneath the glove compartment, left side (06010) containing Circuits 631 (T/R) and 57 (BK).

5. Use a jumper wire to short Circuit 631 (T/R) to Circuit 57 (BK) or to another good ground. This short must be made after the diagnostic trouble code flashes completely one time, but before the warning light stays on continuously.

6. Hold short until air bag diagnostic monitor tone sounds (approximately five seconds).

7. Release short on Circuit 631 (T/R) to Circuit 57 (BK). This short must be released within 25 seconds after the diagnostic monitor tone sounds.

Diagnostic trouble code is now cleared from memory. Next highest priority diagnostic trouble code stored (if one exists) will begin flashing.

YOU NEED TO AJUST THE FUEL MIX ON THE CARBURTOR

what a **** generator, worked for 100 hours and now wont start anymore.
did all the checks and replacing of spark plug and oil etc, simply wont start, ****, ****, ****..... service is horrible too. they just give you the runaround.

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. Your red LED is telling you that it was 1. overloaded. 2. has low voltage 3. overheated or 4. short in the powered circuit.

OVERLOAD LED (red): Lights up if the generator experiences
a load greater than the rated output, low voltage, overheats or
the powered circuit experiences a short. The output is stopped
even though the engine keeps running.

I do not know which of the 4 conditions caused your red light. If you have the read light with no load I would suspect low voltage from the generator / inverter. If it overheated you will also get the Red LED with no load.
