Hi, If you are looking at the blower from the rear of the dryer, the blower needs to turn clockwise to be removed.

Are the Cutting blades bolts for a John Deere LT 160 right handed thread or left handed thread?

It is typical to use right handed thread so you would turn them clockwise to install, and counterclockwise to remove. The blade rotates towards the cutting edge which is typically counterclockwise, so to remove the bolt, you unscrew it, with the handle of your wrench pulling towards the back of the blade.. These bolts can be really tight. Pull the spark plug lead or remove the ignition key so you don't get an accidental start. Wear gloves, there are sharp bits.

Which way does the bolt turn to remove the blade from a hayter harrier 41 mower

You can figure this out by checking the direction that the blade turns when it is operating and the bolt will tighten the opposite way because if it turned the same way it would loosen off when the motor was turning the blade, so almost univerdsally it will loosen clockwise and tighten counterclockwise.

I wish to know which direction do i turn the bolt to take the cutting blade of a john deere ride on/ clockwise or anticlockwise?

As you are looking at the blade and bolt from under the mower, if the blade is rotating counterclockwise, then the blade bolt is standard threaded and will turn counterclockwise to loosen. If the blade is turning clockwise, then the bolt is left hand threaded and will turn clockwise to loosen. John Deere produces mower decks with both setups.
Good luck!

Does the bolt on the blade come off counterclockwise or clockwise.

If you are facing the blade from where the bolt is, and the blade's normal operation is to turn counter-clockwise, then the bolt will loosen counter-clockwise. This is universally true for any blade which is held on by a center bolt (table saws, grinders, etc.) This is because the motor is turning the shaft counter-clockwise, and the resistance against the blade as it does it's work is clockwise - thus tightening the blade rather than loosening it. If the blade normally turns clockwise, then the bolt will loosen clockwise.

I am replacing the electric motor in my gas dryer I have it disassembled, and am removing the fan on the back of the motor. does this fan turn counterclockwise or clockwise to remove

Hi,
Look at your fan and the way the blades curve...to deterimine the rotation of the motor. They can run either direction... some run CW and some CCW....

Once you determine the rotation you can then determine the way the blower comes off. The motor will always spin to tighten the blow on the shaft..... so going the reverse direction would be the way to take it off.

I wish that I could give a definitive answer like yes it goes CCW... but that would not be the correct answer all the time...hope you understand....and that my explaination is clear...why it could be either way.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Can't remove the blower fan from the motor shaft.

blade turns clockwise to remove..but ck door switch first also are you referring to small white fuse on blower housing or the one on element ..the one on blower will cause it not to run other heat only..also possible timer contacts ..motors are least likely to cause problems ..if unable to remove fan will need to be broken o0ff to remove

Remove blower blade from motor

A guy who has been repairing these for twenty+ years told me sometimes the blower fan is just too tight to remove. If so, you have to use a screwdriver or punch from the motor side and literally break the plastic fan apart. I thought that was going to be my problem, but..... With wrench tightly fastened to the nut at the back of the motor and resting against the post of the rubber wheel, I put a sturdy wrench on the shaft at the front of the motor and whacked it in a clockwise direction with a hammer. It snapped and came loose! Hooray. Try that before you demolish the blower fan.
