Turning on computer brings screen to open normally or safe mode but will do nothing more but cycle thru it again

Hi Janet,

I think this might be due to the fact that your Operation System might have been corrupted. Try inserting your OS CD/DVD and install the OS.Before installing, you can either format your default Windows drive or keep files as it is.

Have a nice Day!!

My computer i think crashed, i can get on safe mode with networking with limited programs, but when i try to start my computer normally it just goes to a blue screen and wont do anything else..what can i...

Windows crashes because an very important program has been corrupted. The best way to fix that (since you have no idea which program) is to recover your files in Safe Mode then reinstall Windows - and make sure that the normal format option (not the fast one) is selected during process.

Try to load the sys in the recovery manager trough the F10 key and do a system restore to a date previous the update.
If that doesnt work than u have to load trough the safe mode trough F8 and do the sys restore.
If that doesnt work u will have to do a recovery on the sys.
Turn off the Windows update its no god use to ur sys

Vista boots just Black screen with cursor even in safe mode

Yes, this is a known issue with Vista. You need to back-up your data, format your hard drive and re-install Vista from the beginning.
There is really no use trying to repair it: it is damaged.
After you re-install Vista, do not forget to install service packs from microsoft.com.

Presario 2200 starts up, gives me safe mode screen

Yeah, windows did not install correctly the first time around & you need to reinstall with a format. Isn't there anyone you know who has a real CD, (Do not take a chance with a copy) you can borrow? Call you're brother or email him & ask if you can get his CD again. You can always but a windows CD. The price has dropped alot since Vista hit the market. Click on this link.

(Do not buy Vista), unless you like problems.
