Question about Canon Pixma MP500 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I just replaced all my ink cartridges with Canon proprietary cartridges. The colors work fine, but the PGBK produces little to no ink. I tried a nozzle check, which PGBK failed, but the others passed. I tried cleaning, auto head align and deep cleaning and nothing helped. What should I do? I even tried another new black cartridge. This printer is a money dump!
If you don't use it very often the black could have dried in the printhead, and you will need a new one. Another possibility is that the purge unit is not cleaning and priming the printhead properly. I have seen several defective purge units. For 1 year it can be replaced under warranty, after that it is a $90.00 repair job in the shop.
