Hi,
Just take the battery out and go to Radio Shack or a drug store. The number is written on the battery.

A solid orblinking Amber power button indicates a voltage problem. This can be caused bya defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Just to make sure thatnothing else is causing the problem, remove any PCI cards like modem, videocard, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables toCD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.

Alert! system battery voltage is low. Strike the F1 ke to contunue, F2 to run the setup utility

Dell claims the problem is caused by some surge suppressors - and that you can eliminate it by removing the surge suppressor and plugging the PC directly into the wall outlet. Call Tech Support and have them send you a battery, or look in the system docuemtation and go to Radio Shack and get a new one if you are in a hurry.

I own a Dell Optiplex GX270 Hi I get a message coming up saying ``Alert battery low voltage press F1 to continue'' on a black screen What should I do and how thanks

I think this is reffering to your cmos battery, switch off the machine and remove the side cover, have a look around for a flat cell battery, it is usually a cr2032 or similar, these batteries are cheap to buy (maybe £3 or so)the battery in question, if your not familiar with cell batteries, looks something like an oversized watch battery, maybe 20mm in diameter.

When I powered on my GX620 desktop computer, I got a "low battery" message. How do I resolve this problem?

There is a very small watch battery on the mother board. You will need to replace that. This battery keeps the time and various bios settings alive when the computer does not have power.

if you can open the cabinet and there on the mother board you will find a CMOS battery (round one) take that battery and keep it out for around 3 mins and then put it back properly - start your computer - BIOS password will be reset .

Bios default password

The BIOS default password is just blank, and it is not asked.

When you set a bios password, you are asked to enter a value, therefore if bios is asking the password, the password had been changed.

To reset the bios password if you do not know the password you need to access to motherboard and temporarily remove battery for few seconds.
Removing battery will reset bios and delete the password.
Unplug power cord before accessing the motherboard, and try not touching the motherboard with your finger.
Put battery back in place before restarting computer.

Hey,

there is a 3 volt flat battery inside the computer, it in most cases clearly visible.

Replace it with the same type of battery, then adjust the clock in the system setup.

All done, all fine.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks,
Ekse
