You most likely have a leak. That can be recharged but at RV repair labor prices you may consider replacing unit because of age. Installing a new one is pretty easy as I have installed hundreds. It only takes an about an hour with a buddy to help you.

The RV roof top AC systems are sealed systems. To recharge the AC system, access ports must be installed and R134a then recharged back into the system. This can be costly and will not always work to resolve the issue. The manufacturers do not recommend recharging the AC systems due to the fact that they hold such a small amount of charge that when they do leak out damage occurs to the compressor. In my opinion you are better off having a new AC installed (rather than paying $300-$400 to charge it and it still not work or bite the dust a month down the road and you still have to purchase a new unit) and then you have the peace of mind knowing that the unit is new and covered by a two year warranty...

If the compressor isn't running, the refrigerator or freezer won't cool - period. Hopefully, by now, you've had a repair technician come and troubleshoot the problem.

My ac comes on in my RV and runs for a about 15 minutes and then the fan shuts off and finally the compressor shuts off. this happens before reaching the cooling temp. When it comes back on the fan does...

The Fan topside , Is the one working? The one that blows on the condensor? If not, your compressor can be trying to start against high head pressure. Ck the other fan, not the one that blows inside, the other one.It cools down the condensor and if the pressure is too high it will hinder the compressor. Good Luck

Dometic air conditioner blowing cool air

When the cooling slows down, but water is still running off, usually something is icing up. You can turn the unit off, and let it thaw, and try again. Sometimes, if the humidity is high, this is more pronounced. It sounds like you are low on refrigerant. That implies that you have a slight leak. You should have the unit serviced, and the leak repaired.

Blows but not cooling

Is compressor running. If the fan runs and the compressor runs. You are out of refrigerant or the compressor has bad valves. Please leave feedback. Rusty

NOT BLOWING COLD AIR

Is the compressor motor running off the belt of the motor? Check the fuse for the A/C. Will you have everything running, grab the pipe that runs into the firewall in the engine bay to test for refrigeration effect. If the compressor is running, but no cooling affect is on the pipe, it means that the refrigerant has leaked out of the system at its weakest point. In this case, you will need to take it into a licenced repairer. Good Luck.
