Question about Dell Inspiron E1705, Intel Core 2 Duo T5300 , 17" WSXGA+ LCD, 1GB DDR2 SDRAM, 256MB ATI V... PC Notebook
Stays lit thru Windows XP boot up screen and gets me to the logon where it then goes dark. In safe mode, it also goes dark in a few mins after boot up. I replaced the inverter board today since that should have fixed it but it didn't. Is it possible that the bulbs are bad? I don't think so because they work intially. It is possible that the inverter board replacement is bad but not likely. Please help...
Hello the homepage is here:
Setup the power settings in the control panel so it not dim the screen after 5 min.set it for a longer period (This is a powersaving option)
Try also to install a updated screendriver.
The screen could also have a fault and must be changed.

If the screen goes dark after BIOS, there is a software conflict - either a driver or screen resolution was set incorrectly. a couple of ideas to solve:
boot from disk, or another hard drive - if this works, it confirms the software conflict - which would mean having to re-install the OS.
