Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire microwave, model# MWV150KBA, sounds like it is running but will not heat. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes.

Once power is restored, the first thing you will need to do is set the clock. You will do this by pressing the "Clock" button once for AM and twice for PM, enter in the time, and press the "Clock" button again.

Put a cup of water in for about a minute. If the water does not get warm, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your microwave and determine why it is not heating. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

I have a frigidaire microwave model mwv150kba beep is to low you barely can hear it

The manual for model MWV150BKA is here but it does not discuss any adjustment of the beeper volume.

It may have gotten glitched. You might try a hard reset by unplugging the oven for a couple of minutes, plugging it back in, setting the clock, then trying it again.

Mwv150kba. 160 vac applied. Why doesn't it work now?

Jim,
If you mean that 160 volts was applied to the microwave, the fuse is usually rated for 200 to 300 volts, so it would not necessarily trip the fuse just because you had a high voltage applied to the unit. That does not mean that the rest of the unit could take that amount though. More than likely, you have blown something on the circuit board, but I would suggest taking it to a repair shop and let them give you an idea of what might need to be fixed because there can be some lethal voltage present and we do not want anything to happen to you. I was fortunate one time that nothing permanent happened to me when I touched the wrong thing and I was hit with somewhere between 3000 and 7000 volts according to the doctor. Please be careful!

My Frigidaire microwave model PLMV169DCB turn table stop working & wont heat up

Thank you for your inquiry, Justin!

From the information you have provided your Frigidaire microwave is not turning and it has stopped heating up. It sounds like the motor, magnetron, or control panel may need to be replaced inside of your microwave. This could also be a miscommunication within your microwave and a reset could help clear it out. You can reset your microwave by flipping the household circuit breaker off for at least ten minutes. If that does not help correct your issue I would suggest contacting a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

Good Morning Jim Cole, thank you for your post!

From what you are describing it sounds like it could be an issue within your control panel or door switch. I would recommend having a technician out to properly diagnose your Frigidaire microwave to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Frigidaire microwave not heating over the range

Hello

Try to cook something simple such as microwave popcorn. If the unit does not light up or turn on, check the outlet with another appliance to make sure the outlet is functioning correctly.

Check the fuses or circuit breakers in you house. If the outlet does not work after testing it with another appliance, try to plug the microwave in a different outlet.

Check the hinges and door hooks to make sure the door is closing properly. Look to see whether a small piece of food is clinging to the door, preventing it from closing all the way. Check the release mechanism and the rotating plate to make sure they can move freely as well.

Plug in the microwave and start it a the bag of microwave popcorn inside. If the lights go on but it is not producing heat, listen and try to hear whether the unit sounds the way it usually does. If it does not, there might be problems with the circuit board. This will need to be repaired by a certified Frigidaire professional.

Check the display that shows the time and power. If the display is flickering but it does not alter the operation of the microwave, it is not a problem. If, however, the lights flicker and your food is not heating, there may be a problem in the microwave cabinet.

Listen for buzzing sounds. If there is a buzzing sound and no heat is being produced, you may have to get a new magnetron, power diode, or high-voltage capacitor. These can be purchased from a Frigidaire retailer.

Look at the handle on the door. The most common complaint about all models of the Frigidaire microwave, according to Consumeraffairs.com, was cracked or broken door handles. Frigidaire will replace faulty handles while the oven is under warranty. In many cases, they will replace the handle even after the warranty expires for a "reasonable" amount of time.

Microwave seems to run, but won't heat.

We have a similar problem! It sounds like a problem with the microswitch inside the unit that the door is suppose to engage when closed. If not engaged properly, it will not cook. We had the switch replaced last March but it has started acting up again. We can press in on the door and/or lift it slightly and it will cook. Try putting time on the counter and hit start. It the word "cook" appears then try moving the door slightly and see if the turntable starts turning. If not, then you may have a more serious problem. Good luck!
