SOURCE: Emerg. Brake Drum Removel on

The park/emerg. brakes should be integrated with the rear brake rotors. To replace them involves removing the calipers and brackets. You should be able to slide the rotors off. You may have to back the park brake shoes off with the shoe adjusters to remove the rotors due to the rust lip that often develops within, but they should slide off once freed. Hope this helps.

2007 Chevy Impala, clicking noise starts BEFORE key in ignition. Why?

If your 2007 Chevy Impala is making a clicking noise before the key is even inserted into the ignition, it could be caused by a few different issues. Some potential causes include:
  1. Faulty starter motor: The starter motor is responsible for starting the engine when the ignition is turned on. If the starter motor is faulty or has worn out, it may make a clicking noise as it tries to engage with the flywheel.
  2. Loose or damaged starter motor relay: The starter motor relay is an electrical component that sends power to the starter motor when the ignition is turned on. If the relay is loose or damaged, it may cause a clicking noise.
  3. Low battery: If the battery is low on charge or has gone bad, it may not have enough power to start the engine, causing a clicking noise.
  4. Other electrical issues: There may be other electrical issues, such as a loose connection or a problem with the ignition switch, that are causing the clicking noise.
To determine the cause of the clicking noise, it is recommended to bring your vehicle to a mechanic or a dealership for further diagnosis and repair. They will be able to test the starter motor, battery, and other electrical components to determine the source of the problem and recommend the appropriate repairs.

My interior lights turn on everything works its just my engine wont turn over it sounds like a clicking noise

Battery is weak or bad. The clicking noise is the starter solenoid and is a result of...not enough power in the battery.

it sounds like a bad connection on the engine earth or loose connection to the starter motor or the starter motor is faulty ?

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Won't start. no sound from starter. Not sure I hear the fuel pump start up. Does this car have a reset switch for the fuel pump like the Ford Escort and other cars?

Start from scratch.
Does the battery have 12 volts across the terminals? If yes, then does the starter click when you turn the key? If no, replace the battery.
If the starter clicks when you turn the key, but the engine doesn't crank, replace the starter.
If no click, then check for power at the starter solenoid.
If there is power at the solenoid, but no click when you turn the key, check the starter relay. If none of this fixes your problem, you may want to have your mechanic check for broken or corroded wires

1999 Ford Taurus Wont Start

Tapping the starter does not always work. I would check all the connections on the battery and starter. If these are good replace the starter. Don't forget the grounds.
