The pulse generator is in the dome. Check all the connectors for corrosion. Help in the link and it is a common error. It sounds like you need a new 'professional'.
There is a seal on the antenna scanner shaft, just below the seal there are two bearings, thou the antenna are enclossed moisture still get inside and get to these bearings. Try and get a small amount of wd40 on the bearings, if not, you will soon begin to see false echoes on the screen because the motor on the scanner or antenna will begin to work harder causing a drag causing these echoes. found my fault not i the power cable in, but the interconnect to radar dome..approx 50mm from radar screen a break in the wire, found it just by wiggling the cable.. the set wont power up if the interconnect not connected or is faulty
