I have Windows 7 RC (patches etc. up to date) on a box with an MSI K8MMV motherboard. My VisionTek ATI Radeon x1650 agp card is detected and windows installs drivers but I cannot get any resolution above 720 by 480. I am using it to feed an HDTV via the component output (RGB plugs). The nVidia 6200 based card I had in before that worked OK and gave me 1920 x 1080. Installing latest ATI Catalyst drivers for windows 7 did not help. Anyone had this problem with the ATI x1650? KNow how to fix it? I was hoping that the ATI card would be a better performer as the 6200 was my weakest link in the Windows experience info.
Not put down your video card though x1650 is not a "screamer" in todays standards, I'm running a 3870OC myself because it was cheaper than to buy the latest and greatest. I believe you are limited by your motherboard only having AGP? Take a look at this link: http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=AS-345AG51&c=pw
You would be able to retain the already installed drivers. It all depends on your budget. On another note try lowering your colors and changing the monitors frequency. I hope this helps.

I'm trying to connect my Radeon X1650 to my HDTV Via a DVI to Component adapter. I have Catalyst Control Center 9.8 I cannot get a picture on the HDTV. I am using a anolog monitor as primary and trying to set up hdtv as secondary. I would rather use HDTV as primary if possible. Any advice please?
