Gateway t 1625 laptop not booting

My gateway t 1625 laptop recently started not booting. it powers up fine, the loading screen comes up, but then it just stays there. OR it will not boot up, the system initiates start up restore/recovery, but it can't fix the problem. then a blue "stop" screen with words about restarting in safe mode. However, I am unable to start in safe mode.
I remember that it had previously been getting stuck on loading screen. I would "power button" shut down and the next time it would start. I also received a few msgs about "closing program because unsafe" and it would kick me out of whatever I was working on (but it didn't shut down or restart).

i don't have computer in front of me, but...after i tapped f8 and screen came up with selections like - startup repair, system restore, last configuration, etc...i chose all 3 (at some point in time) and i would either get the blue screen with additonal instructions to try to load in safe mode or something about using f8 menu to do so. However, nothing would work.Couldn't shut down with CTRL+Alt+delete (had to use power button). When restared wouldn't give safe mode option-only startup repair or normal start options(neither worked). Would always end up at black sreen with please wait or blue screen. Also, when initially loading/starting up, black screen with white words about 1/4 way down screen - something about media not found.? Also, would start to load up normally, but midway would stop and strange sound (not very loud) could be heard.

If u can, try to reformat it, reason i say this simple solution is because u already had the laptop looked at professionally, and due to you're laptop being stuck at the windows screen, i see this happen on HDD swaps a lot. The HDD needs to be repair-formatted or fully reformatted to talk to the new mobo when switched out, try this if all else fails, i personally think giving this simple solution may fix the boot up issue, but do make sure ur friend who looked at your laptop hadn't reset ur C MOS and may of not reconfigured it, this may also be the main cause of boot up troubles so make sure everything looks fine in ur BIOS. Gabriel will have a more proper solution than this but i believe by doing this it may help u bypass ur loading issue

Good day. I have a Gateway m-1625 (reconditioned). About 5 months ago it started to give problems when booting up. When powered on the hard drive would be engaged & then it would shut off. After...

check the BIOS version, if there is an update for it on the gateway site apply it. a checksum error in CMOS BIOS cannot be overcome and you will always have to deal with this issue if no bios updates are available. There is a slim chance that you can revert back to an earlier version.

Yes, if the CPU/motherboard will not POST (Power On Self Test), then changing the CPU is the only thing that you have not tried.

My Gateway laptop that I purchased two years ago has stopped working all of a sudden yesterday. I was on it and had to restart it a couple of times yesterday and then finally when I went to turn it back...

I reccommend you open the laptop and remove the bios battery. this is a small flat round shape battery, leave out of the machine for 20 minutes, then insert it again and power on the laptop. :)

Gateway m 1625 operating system not found and its overheating

This means either the operating system on your hard drive has become corrupt and you will need to reinstall your operating system or, more likely, your hard drive has failed and you will need to replace the hard drive and the operating system.

As for your heat issue, use a can of compressed air and blow out all the vents on your laptop. This should help the heat issue; note that it is common for the laptop to feel hot as it is dissipating the heat from inside.

Thanks and please take a moment to give this solution a thumbs up rating with a solved solution as I answered your questions. Thanks.!
