Check/clean the mirror first, then the viewfinder and the lense. If the stain doesn't show on pictures, it's probably just in the mirror or the viewfinder and doesn't affect the pictures.
as you view to take a picture, there is a black mark shown, but in removing the lens the mark is still there. cleaning the lower mirror does not erase it. it has to be in the viewfinder
how do you get to it?
it is a Pentax K1000
this a camera my son gave to me like it is. I think the problem is in the facing of a mirror coming apart, what I might ned are instructions on ho to get to it
This is impossible to answer unless you add the exact make and model of the camera. Also it helps if you can give any details as to when the fault occurred and how it may have happened. Ink stains don't magically appear on their own in a camera as there's not supposed to be any ink inside them!
