Question about Panasonic TX-28CK1 28" TV

1 Answer

Toshiba CF3254j I have an older Toshiba cf3254j tv for which I recently replaced the C301 and C305 "red" capacitors to resolve a vertical rollup problem. Now the set will not power on and keeps blowing resistor R303 (1k ohms). Where should I look next? Thanks.

I have an older 12 year old 37" Toshiba tv. When I

A capacitor in the vertical circuit is taking time to build up a charge, and allow the vertical circuit to function properly. If you can get a schematic, you might be able to find it and change it out. It will be an electrolytic capacitor, shaped like a round barrel, and they are inexpensive, but you have to disassemble the whole unit to get them changed out.
I would live with it, unless you're very adept at electronics.
I could work for years like this, until it finally gives out.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

You have bad capacitors and possibly a vertical IC that is going bad. And check for bad grounds in and around the IC and caps!

Older JVC 36" with a line about a third of the way down screen

you have leaky capacitors in the vertical circuit, you probably need a tv repairman to troubleshoot, but if you want to take the back off, find the vertical chip, and change the 4 or 5 capacitors around the vertical chip then good luck, also once in a blue moon, you can fix this by resoldering the vertical chip.

No image on a toshiba Cf27g50

If it is a vertical line, change the horizontal output transistor + capacitors. If it is a horizontal line, replace vertical output transistor + capacitors. Both cost around $10-20.

I think you have a vertical problem. Turn up screen voltage to see if there is a tin horizontal line across screen. If so replace vertical output IC and the 100uf/35v capacitor in the vertical circuit.

Model CF1926A TV with insufficient vertical height. I replaced c308, c305, c301, c315. voltage was missing from ic501, pin 29; restored with replacement of c301. no help to vertical. voltage was missing...

I think you missed one cap. Look for another 1ufd cap close to the jungle chip. It will have the circuit designation in the 300's like the others in the vertical circuit. It is just not located close by. I think that one will fix it.I don't have the service data with me so I can't give you the exact designation.
