Question about Kitchen Ranges
Hi I have been trying to work out how to use our oven as the markings have been wiped off by the previous owners. I dont know what model it is but if any one has any ideas of where i can find the model number or even if you know the markings Id love it as I keep burning & under cooking things! Thank you email@example.com My stove is Indesit K 644 MS/I and the front control panel is stainless steel and the markings have been wiped off. I want to replace the markings if I can. Does anyone have a handbook or a solution?I emailed Indesit.com a couple of weeks ago and got no reply.Maureen B

Your model number can usually be found on a white or silver rating plate located somewhere on the product, usually the base, rear. Instruction books can be downloaded from the following link: http://www.indesitservice.co.uk/hs/pages/manual/manualSearch.do

If the bake ignitor comes on (starts glowing after a few seconds) - check the amperage on the bake ignitor wires when it's on. If the ignitor is a round style - amperage should be 2.5-3A, if the ignitor is rectangular - 3 - 3.6A. If less than 2.5A or 3A respectively - replace ignitor.
Ignitor part numbers for round style ones: 4342528, WB2X9154, SGR403, 5304401265;
rectangular styles: 12400035, WB13K21, WB2X9998, SGR412, NR020, 5303935066, 814269, 9753108.
Ignitors of the same shape (i.e. rectangular) are interchangeable, if you can splice the wires.

SOURCE: Stainless Steel Range Tops.
The only way to clean it is with steel wool. I use 2 different grades, but finish with a fine grit-0000. You still can't get it completely clean, no matter what you do. Forget it looking new. It's not real stainless steel if it's model FEF455BBA. I won't EVER buy this sort of top again either. I have had numerous problems with it, including since it conducts heat and doesn't shield wiring from the heat generated by the eyes, it is constantly melting out the plug-in elements for the eyes. I am surprised it hasn't been recalled. I am surprised more people haven't had fires!
