Re: kenwood ka 9100 amp

The Kenwood KA-9100 power switch is two sided. Hook an ohms meter to the end of the power cord and see if you see any change when you flip the switch. If nothing it is probably shot. Check the ohms meter against the unused contacts on the switch, you should see a change when you flip the switch. If you determine the switch is the problem clip off the wires and the capacitor and solder to the other side of the switch. You should be able to do this from the bottom if you take the bottom cover off. I just had Classic Audio repair fix mine that way. My switch was making a sizzling noise. Sometimes it did work.

Re: kenwood ka 9100 amp

I have one other question on which Transformer Vendor is used on the Pyramid PA1000X Amplifier. I want to find out if there is a schematic for troubleshooting or to just order a new Transformer. Please help. Thanks.

How do i get a free service manual download of a kenwood ka-127 model stereo integrated amplifier in any digital format?

I doubt you will be able to find a digital copy, and Kenwood dropped their home audio line 2+ decades ago. I probably have a hard copy of the manual, as I was a Kenwood Factory Service Center for over 25 years, however, it is not free. My Kenwood Ka 995 amplifier wont turn on

The unit is going into shutdown, check speaker wires on the back for any shorts, if okay the problem may be a bad solder connection probably near the output stage, or a part has failed.

My kenwood ka-128 amp keeps randomly shutting off. what can i do to stop it from shutting off? Do i need more power?

you can calculate power needed as follows:-
amplifier power must be 20% more than the total power of all speakers(if total speakers power is 100 watt)you need amplifier of 120 watt at least more is ok.

Kenwood KA-127 P-off response

This unit is likely to be in "protect" mode. This means that a problem has been detected it the final stage of the amplifier section and the speakers are disabled to prevent damage to either the speakers of the amp. This can be casued by a poor solder connection or defective components inside the amp. Without taking internal measurements, I can not say for sure. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$40 range for this repair. Add in the local labor rate for the total repair cost.

Kenwood Audio Amp KA-5040R - remains in standby

Hi, Lost sole, i HOPE YOU FIND IT

Minwhile, when it works to know if you have a cold solder joint, hit the unit on the top or buttom to see if it stop working, mostlikly it will,
To fix this you must unplug the unit open the bottom cover, and solder joint that look broken off, moslity on the output stage or power supply.
What I think happening is when the unit heat's up the joint expand and doesn't do contact no more.

Another problem that this may be is a bad power supply, cap's, this can be check by freezing them to see if the unit starts again.

This is little trick of the trade, I hope this help

The power amp does need an imput signal ie. tuner, cd , and such to play. You can use the power amp with the other equipment.
