I have the similar problem with my Pyramid amp. The main Fuse was checked OK. When power on, the Relay on the PCB just shuts off the circuit after a second. However the cooling Fan still runs OK. Removing 2 output wires from big Transformer to PCB. The impedance between 2 input pins to the PCB is about several Kohms so the PCB is not shorted. The impedance at 2 output wires of the Transformer is less than 1 ohm or about 0.5 ohm without load and the voltage across those 2 wires is about 15V so it is not shorted either but I wonder why its impedance is that very low. When connecting them to the PCB, the final impedance across would also go down to less than 1 ohm. This would send a big Amp current to the PCB, I think. Maybe the problem is on the Transformer. Does anyone know how to fix the Transformer? I am going to try to open it up to check inside for any burning or damage component.

The Kenwood KA-9100 power switch is two sided. Hook an ohms meter to the end of the power cord and see if you see any change when you flip the switch. If nothing it is probably shot. Check the ohms meter against the unused contacts on the switch, you should see a change when you flip the switch. If you determine the switch is the problem clip off the wires and the capacitor and solder to the other side of the switch. You should be able to do this from the bottom if you take the bottom cover off. I just had Classic Audio repair fix mine that way. My switch was making a sizzling noise. Sometimes it did work.

Kenwood KA-76 amp. Left channel distorts and unit overheats then shuts down when volume is turned up. Headphones are not affected.

what happens if you reconnect left and right speakers? Are these problems of the unit or of the speakers/wires?

How to connect a kenwood ka- 9100 to a pioneer vsx-d608

You don't say, what role the Kenwood is supposed to play but I'll assume you want to slave the Kenwood (and its speakers) to the Pioneer.

The VSX-D608 doesn't have multi-channel pre-outs so you wouldn't have local control of the volume at the Pioneer.

http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showimage.aspx?gid=108365&ppid=1122&image=404270323&images=404269872,404269931,404269984,404270049,404270137,404270323&formats=0,0,0,0,0,0&format=0

The KA could be a subwoofer amp as the Pioneer has a pre-out for that.

Outs to Ins. "Power In" on the KA would be for an external volume-controlled source. Otherwise, use one of its non-Phono inputs.

Subwoofers not bumpin, amp is still on

Check to make sure there is a good input to the amp. Next check each sub to another source to make sure they are good. Look for any reset on the amp.
