Samsung SCH-a930 Cellular Phone Logo

My wife dropped her A930 in the pool. I removed the battery and sd card and taped it to a dehumidifier for 5 days after which all signs of water (moisture) were gone. I put the battery back in and turned on and it worked fine. I plugged it in to charge up the battery. After two hours of charging the screen was dark and the phone was dead. It it a lost cause? Since I have the same phone I switched batteries with my phone and her battery is fully charged. In pushing all the buttons on her phone somehow I got her flash to turn on and shine continuously. Some how I turned it off but could not repeat it.

I'm not an expert on phones but similar things have happened to ppl i know, well 2
my sister dropped her phone in the sink b4 n i think she was experiencing the same problems although i can't remember this that well as it was a while bk. she bough a new 1 n after a while it did start working suddenly.

my mates dad experienced it once after he dropped his phone in a cup of tea. he managed to take it to a place where the phone got fully cleaned out. It then worked fine n now my mum has it after he got a new one. He said the only problem he was having was his internet popping up now n then but it has stopped doing that now. If i was u i would maybe try this out n see if there is a place near u that may be able to help u out

good luck

Wb button blinks blue then turns camera off

Make sure battery is fully charged. Remove any SD card - does it still do this? If not, it may be defective card, or it may be a bad SD circuit board. Try another card. If it deos the same with another card, replace SD circuit and re-test.

This assumes camera has not been impacted, dropped, water damaged, etc.

My polaroid a930 digital camera won't download pictures

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

My wife's LG 8550 got wet and now won't power on

If the phone was still on while it got submerged, then you may be out of luck. Had it been off when it was submerged, using the rice trick might have worked. I would try removing the battery, and drying it out some more, but the damage may have already been done. Sorry!

Water damage

1) Take the battery, sim card (SD card if there is one) out and dry
2)Dry the battery compartmant
3)For about 24 hours turn the phone upside down, or so the water will drip OUT
4) Then for about 2-3 minuets dry with a blow dryer, on low
5) YAY your cell phone SHOULD work, if not then the damage is serious

Hi,
There are many reasons for a dehumidifier2_bing.gif to not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier2_bing.gif.

Have you removed the battery more than once?
Try removing the battery and the flash memory card.
Put the flash memory card back in and then the battery.
The problem should be solved.

Dropped into a glass of alcohol

i know it sounds ridiculous, but take the battery out and leave the rest of your phone to sit in a dry place for a few days. you can blow dry it as long as you dont heat it up too much - use a cool setting or jsut be really careful. ive dropped the exact phone in water before and this tip from a friend worked. also, if this does not work, you can go to verizon and they have some tool to retrieve your contacts. i think it costs like $25 or something, but they should be able to retrieve numbers without your phone working, atleast this has been my experience. good luck!
