Have a question about a Bradford/white hot water heater blower assembly. blower humming but not coming on?

I would say your on the right track, a humming motor is most likely a stuck motor, so it tries to run it a bit then shuts off because the blower doesn't spin up. Replacing the blower should get you going again, good job troubleshooting!

Why isn't my Rangemaster Hood blower turning when switched on?

Hi Ed
Being a range hood & subjected to cooking fats etc. It might be gummied up around the fan and just require cleaning!
But.... you said it was humming and there is a capacitor close by.
Then it's probably an induction motor thats not getting kick started by the Cap. While it's humming, use a finger (or stick) to push start in one direction or try other direction. If it spins up and stays going.... you've found the problem. The Cap is not kick starting in the right direction. Remove the Cap (with AC Disconnected) and check the values to get a similar replacement.

Good Luck

My coleman evcon furnace just hums when i turn it on it doesnt engage the blower or fan thing it a quiet hum... Ready to call for repair but i wondered if there was something i could try..would like h

The hum could just be the control transformer, but that's usually a very light and barely perceptible hum. If its a louder hum, and it stops after a few minutes, the hum could be the blower motor refusing to start for any number of reasons, then cycling on its internal winding thermostat.

I'd call a service tech.

My heil n9mp2 isnt working just hums

is the flame igniting and then cutting off? on a gas furnace, the induction fan motor(draft motor) should start first (if the furnace is so equipped), then the flame, then the blower. if you have an induction motor (flue gas exhaust mmotor) this may be your problem (the induction motor isn't starting), if your unit doesn't have one, have you checked to see that you have gas? finally, the capacitor on the blower motor may be causing the motor not to start.

My 1997 BMW 328 I when i turn my car on, the A/C turns on automactic it has no ... on/off switch it doesnt always turn on... but when it turns works fine.. i dont always have A/C...

Your A/C compressor clutch could be burning out. In other words, engaging and not engaging.

But I believe you need to replace your Blower Motor Resistor... also called a final stage resistor.

You should be able to access it through the passenger area footwell located at the blower motor.

Hope you found this helpful

Good Luck and Happy Motoring

The blower kicks on every three seconds and then kicks off

Is there any humming sound? If yes, motor bearings are worn out replace it or motor. If rotate freely, check power to motor. If no power Board (PCB) problem. Replace it. Thanks. Helpful?

Upon clicking the start button on the Dryer...the motor hums and does not turn the drum. After several attempts trying to engage motor from the start then just clicks. Prior to this the dryer...

Good day,
Sounds like a bad motor. You access the motor from the front.
You can check bearings while you have it down. The only touchy part is getting the blower wheel off. Sometimes the are frozen, and have to be broken out.
Here's an excellent tutorial.

Whirlpool electric dryer tub won't turn. Belt is

if you are hearing loud buzzing or loud humming when start switch is engaged,u have 2 possibilities:1. a bad motor. 2.something hindering the motor's ability to turn.most likely cause of this is usually something caught in the blower housing, preventing motor from turning

Coleman 5Hp Compresser

All electric compressors share a basic design with ac power pressure switch with unloader and checkvalve between the pump and the tank. When the pressure switch powers off, it unloads the compressor by releasing the air in the discharge hose. You will notice a small tire stem pin and a lever to engage it somewhere on the pressure switch. If the compressor stops before reaching set cutoff point, the air pressure remains in the discharge hose not allowing the motor to start, thus the hum you hear. Solution is to check for the proper function of pressure switch /unloader, tank check valve (if check valve leaks air back to compressor it will load motor causing hum) and extra measure check capacitor for at least 90% of rated valve. Finally, do not run this compressor with an extension cord, use more hose instead. enjoy
