You'll need to find a friend or family member that has a computer to resolve this issue. The iPod touch needs to be restored.
Using the Restore function for your iPod touch is part of standard troubleshooting procedure. Restoring your device will erase all data from your iPod touch, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All iPod touch settings are restored to their factory condition.
Whenever you restore your iPod touch, Apple highly recommends that you perform a sync prior to restoring in order to back up any changes since your last sync. If you have movie rentals on the device, see this document before restoring.
Use the following steps to restore your iPod touch:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update. Connect your iPod touch to your computer. Select your iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices. Select the Summary tab. Select the Restore option. When prompted to back up your iPod touch's settings before restoring, select the Back Up option. If have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (As long as you've backed up your device, you should not have to worry about restoring your iPod touch).
Once the restore process has completed the iPod touch restarts and displays the Apple logo while starting up

My ipod touch 4 wont work! it shows the # symbols (usb, arrow, itunes), and it doesnt do anything else! pleaseeeee help! Thanks.

You must have bought a new iPod!
The screen is simply telling you to connect your iPod to your computer. (You should have iTunes already installed, if not you can download it, and install it for free from the Apple website).
Once it is connected, iTunes will pop up, and the rest of the set up will be simple!

How do I update my iPod Touch updated to 3.2

<p>Apple iPod Touch is a touch-screen iPod that contracts with the iPhone and iPod parts. To update the iPod Touch, iPod Touch you have to program a computer running iTunes 3.2. Update the iPod Touch is free and takes only minutes. <br /> <p><br /> <p>1. Connect the iPod Touch to your computer using the USB cable that came with the iPod Touch. <br /> <p><br /> <p>2. Let iTunes opens automatically when the iPod Touch is connected to the computer. <br /> <p><br /> <p>3. Click the name of the iPod on the left side of the screen. If the iPod does not have a name, it will read "iPod". <br /> <p><br /> <p>4. Click "Sync" in the lower right corner of the iTunes program. Disconnect the iPod Touch during the synchronization process. Progress, looking at the status bar at the top of the iTunes program. <br /> <p><br /> <p>5. Disconnect the iPod Touch as the synchronization is complete. You said that the synchronization is complete by reading the status bar at the top of the iTunes program. My ipod is disabled and its saying to go to itunes and i did and its telling me its not reading because its asking for a passcode and i cant because it wont let me so what should i do?

there is a couple things i can think of to do but the best thing to do is 1.hold the lock and centre button at the same time 2.keep holding it untill the apple logo pops up then let go of the lock button 3.then wait untill the itunes label pops up on your ipod and once this happens you can let go of the button (your ipod must be plugged into the computer before you started this) 4.go to itunes on your computer and restore your ipod by clicking restore

You have to put it in recovery mode by powering it down, plug it into pc with iTunes open. When you power up continue to hold the round button until ituens says "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode" answer yes to recover and resync. This is on apples website but it don't tell you to hold the button down untill iTunes sees it.

When i turn on my ipod touch it just says connect to itunes when i do nothing happens cant access anything.

you have a software cooruption. the only way to fix this is to do a restore. try plugging it into itunes and see what happens. if itunes recognizes the ipod it will tell you to restore it. if itunes does not recognize the ipod you need to unplug the ipod and turn it completely off. then you need to plug the ipod while holding the home button down until itunes recognizes the ipod and then it will tell you to restore it.

Double Problems...

this problem happens when you try connecting a ipod to a new Itunes. If you know the lock code you can remove it temporarily until you have it connected and authorized for that computer then you can apply a lock code to it again. the lock code can be removed by going to the settings icon then general option and turning off the passcode lock. then plug into your computer and Itunes will start and go and authorize that computer then all should be good.
