40:1 If you can find 'OPTI-2' two cycle oil that comes in plastic packets, it's the best there is and it's a one mix for all your 2-cycle equipment, regardless of recommended mixture. It's the only 2 cycle oil I sell in my shop.

Need to make 50:1 ratio mix. what i have on hand is the poulin 3.2 fluid ounce that makes 1 gallon at 40:1. how many ounces of this mix would need to be used to achieve the 50:1 mix ratio.

2 choices here
if you want to use the entire 3.2 oz bottle you need to add it to 1.25 gallons of fuel to = 50:1 ratio

if you have 1 gallon of fuel you need to add 2.6 oz of oil to the fuel to equal 50:1 ratio

hope that helps

What is the oil to gas mixing ratio for a poulan SM 4018 Pro chain saw?

The ratio is 50:1 fuel to oil using fresh fuel and a modern synthetic saw oil available from home centers, hardware stores, and saw dealers. Be sure to mix in it's own container, and shake thoroughly each time just before filling the tank to prevent oil starvation. Hope this helps!

I bought a reconditioned Poulan pro PP4629AVX and I can't find a manual for it. What is the oil to gas mixture? Thanks Steve

The fuel-oil mixture ratio for all Poulan two-cycle products is 40:1. You can obtain this ratio by mixing 3.2 oz. of oil with one gallon of regular gas.

Gas/oil ratio for fuel in a poulan pro 46cc engine

The standard mix for most chain saws is 40:1 that's about 3-1/4 oz per gallon.

What type of fuel mixture do I use for 20760 Homelite gas trimmer?

Most likely not the answer you are looking for but here is a shot:

Pick up a bottle of the Echo brand 2-cycle oil. It will say "Extended Life" on the labeling. This is meant to run in Echo products, but it is a very FINE and well engineered oil. Mix it according to label directions for 50:1 ratios. (2.6 Oz. to 1 Gal. Gasoline)

When mixed at this ratio it provides MORE than adequate engine protection for ALL 2-Cycle engines, including those that run in 40, and 30:1 ratios.

I mix one 2-cycle tank to label instructions on the Echo oil for 50:1. It handily runs in my Echo chainsaws, non-echo trimmer, Poulan Pro leaf blower, etc. They all run different ratios, but THRIVE on the Echo mix without as much oily residue and smoke to boot!

CAUTION: I do not know of ANY OTHER MAKE of 2-cycle oil that CAN DO THIS *SAFELY*.

Remember:

Always mix your 2-cycle fuel starting with *fresh* gas.

Mix only that which you can use in 30 days.

Use 89 Octane fuel to make your mix in small piston 2-cycle engines.

Clean and re-oil intake filters @ every 10 hrs. operation time. Check and re-gap your plug when you service your filter!

DRAIN unused fuel from tank back into gas mix container. Restart and let engine idle to run any remaining fuel out of engine and carb. Storing fuel in ANY 2-cycle longer than two weeks is going to gum them up and nothing short of a carb rebuild will get them sputtering back to life again!

Fuel mix ratio for poulan counter vibe 3400 chain saw; mix ratio

A different site that lists 40:1. http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/ed1d619968136da688256af40002b8f7/4a98e23d38cbda9b88256bf80015de57?OpenDocument
Oil mix is controversial. Some think more is better, todays saws run much faster and carbon up much quicker. Ask the mechanics at a local saw shop. I will wager they say 50:1 regardless of the age of the saw. Me too! The Echo site now says use 50:1 regardless of what is printed in the OM. It is your saw Mike; run what you want.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

Lost mine, need fuel/oil ratio and where to add oil for chain

You can down load your manual here: (this is a 2006-11 PP4218AVX and may not be your saw) Oil cap location is correct as is the fuel/oil ratio.
http://weborder.husqvarna.com/order_static/doc/NOUS/NOUS2006/NOUS2006_545137248.pdf
Page 9 has an illustration of the oil and fuel caps.
Page 10 (BEFORE STARTING ENGINE) says the correct mix is 40:1 (1gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil).
Richer mixes make for starting more difficult, foul plugs and create carbon build ups on the piston and in ther muffler.

If not correct Operators Manual, you can find the correct OM here:
http://www.poulanpro.com/node4043.aspx
Type 4018 in the search query.
The dash number on the serial is the type. HTH

What is the fuel mixture for my new Poulan Pro 18'' chainsaw? It looks like 32:1 but not sure. Thanks! Don

If you use a mixture of 50:1 you can't go wrong. This is the industry standard and can be acheived by following the mixture guide lines one the bottle of oil.32:1 will make your saw smoke to the point of being almost unbearable and will foul the plug,so 50:1 is the mix your looking for.

Craftsman 16'' 36cc's oil to fuel mixture, and bar oil requirements

Your Craftsman is probably a Poulan, for the past few years Poulan has recommended a 40:1 ratio 1 gal premium/3.2 oz quality 2-cycle engine oil. I'd thin down even a little more 50:1 (1 gal premium/2.6 oz quality 2-cycle engine
Fuel/Oil Mixture
  1. Use a quality 2 cycle oil and mix it to the OIL supplier's recommended ratio. Today I use Stihl 2 cycle oil mixed @ 50:1 in a Pioneer that I purchased new in 1980. There are no gouges or scratches on the piston or cylinder and I have no carbon build up on the piston top. The manual (on stone tablets) recommends 24:1. Over the years the mixture has leaned from 24:1 (Saw Recommendation) to 28:1 (Lawn boy mower recommendation) to 32:1 (Oil provider 2gal premium/8oz chainsaw 2-cycle engine oil - used for many years) and finally the last 5 (±) years 50:1 (1gal premium/2.6oz Stihl 2-cycle engine oil)
  2. Any fuel containing ethanol is not good with chainsaws. Mix what you expect to use within a few weeks. Anything over 1.5 months old use up in a 4 cycle engine.
For the bar every home center and hardware sells bar oil. It is 30 weight non-detergent oil with a few additives to help it adhere where lubrication is needed. HTH
