I have a Poulan Pro self propelled lawn mower. Was running and just stopped. Did not hit anything. Can not start and have replaced the spark plug but do not get a spark. Is it the magneto and how do I replace it if it is?

I had the same problem. the coil is located under the "hood" if you may, just take that off and you should be able to get to it pretty easily, just unscrew the coil and find one on ebay for just about $29 for a 2-4 hp

Poulan self propelled 22in blade hit a rock broke tip of blade starts then stalls

Did you bend the crankshaft. To check this out remove spark plug wire and tip mower on it's side and turn blade by hand and watch the shaft the blade is fastened on to. There should be no wiggle motion what so ever and if there is it may be bent causing the engine to not operate properly.

My poulan mower wont start

Start by relacing the fuel in the tank with fresh, check for a spark at the plug, if there is no spark try a new plug, still no spark replace the ignition unit.

I have a constant vibration when running my poulan pro self propelled 22 inch cut lawn mower. any solutions to the problem......

My guess is that you have hit something pretty solid while mowing. You have either bent the blade, bent the crankshaft, or both. To check for a bent crankshaft, set the mower up on a table or tailgate where the handle is on the ground and the spark plug is pointed into the air. DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG !!! You don't want to risk starting it in this position. While a friend holds the engine brake lever closed, and pulls the rope, you need to watch the blade bolt. If the bolt spins without wobbling, just replace the blade. If the bolt wobbles, then the crankshaft is bent. A bent crankshaft can be straightened by a reputable shop. Not all shops are will to straighten crankshafts. It is not a cheap repair.
Good luck!

I evidently put too much oil in the Proulan Pro Lawn Mower. Now I cannot get it started. It sputters at first but will not start. I have cleaned off the spark plug with a paper towel and sand papered the...

First thing is to remove the excess oil. Take out as much as you need to to get to the line on the dipstick. Next, you may want to use a little WD-40 or similar cleaner to spray into the spark plug hole to thin the oil in there. Replace the spark plug and start the machine a number of times until it runs correctly. Using WD-40, remember the term "little". Good luck...Lee

Where is the oil drain plug? I have a Poulan 600 pro self-propelled lawn mower and cannot find the oil drain plug to change the oil.

It is on the bottom of the engine. Lift up the deck and look under it. Make sure there's no grass covering it up.

There are several possibilities for not starting. Water in the gas, Carburetor jet clogged ; Spark plug needs replacing, air filter needs replacing, or you have old gas. Or if you have hit something the flywheel key may be sheared. Hope this helps.

Where is the oil drain plug for a poulan self propelled 22 inch 625 series mower

remove spark plug wire from plug, tip machine on its side.look under blade for a threaded plug with a square head where bottom of motor protrudes through deck.on most models you can simply tip machine over far enough to allow oil to drain out the dipstick[filler]tube.
