Connector for power cord overheats and shorts. Bottom safety screw can be undone using the bacj end of a jig saw blade.
Replace wire connectors with different wire connectors - wire nuts etc.

On my GE mechanical timer 15306, The breaker keeps popping every night for about 2 weeks now

Dear J,
Whenever I get a request like yours, I am happy, because I may bless you by preventing your house or apartment having a fire.
Breakers are designed specifically to prevent fires, and if yours is popping, you have a short circuit somewhere, and if you keep turning it back on, one day the short will start an electrical fire. (I am a retired fire chief.)
Have an electrician test your timer for the problem.
God bless your efforts.

300zx started smoking then died out

Sounds to me like you had an electrical burn out or near fire condition. Water may have gotten into an open area like wiring harness or fuse block and caused a short and what you were smelling is the insulation or other plastics burning. I would take the car to a auto electric specialist for diagnostics.

I have an electric Hot water heater with two elements. A few months ago we replaced the pop off valve and a year ago we replaced the thermostat.Since yesterday, we have not hot water. So my husband...

Replace the melted part.

If tank is popping breaker, then the melted part has a short circuit.
When replacing thermostats, I usually replace both of them

There are 5 basic parts to electric water heater.
Electricity to water heater.
Upper thermostat
Upper element
Lower thermostat
Lower element
It sounds like electricity is good.
Elements are probably good if just replaced, but one of them could have a short.
Thermostat is melted, so replace it and see if it restores hot water.
If not, then take 40 minutes and do complete troubleshoot as shown in link above.

Also take advantage of fixya phone service.

Hi, I have the Lasko Ceramic Elements heaters. When I plug it in, the light lights up to show it's plugged in, but when I try to press the POWER button turn it on, it beeps but does not do start heating...

If I am getting this right you just purchased this heater? I would return it and get another one. It sounds like the tip over switch is not made and will only show that power is getting to it but the tip switch is keeping it from heating.

Fan only runs briefly after short rest repeats short run

Your proplem could be caused by poor air flow. Make sure all the screens on the unit are clean and free of obstrutions. Also you leave at least 4inches of free space all around the unit.
