Re: No power

Here is possible fix.
Understand and be warned that doing the following may damage the camera even more, but if it does not work, then it may be worth the try.

Get a towel, fold it and lay it on a table. With the camera turned off and at an angle so that it will hit on one corner, hit the camera on it's edge on the towel. Not too hard, but do it with enough pressure so that the camera may come back by shaking up the internal connections.
Try to turn it on again, try a couple more times if the first is not successful.
What this does is to cause the internal connections and parts be shaken to such a degree as to make possible connections work again.
You have (in my experiments) about a 30 percent chance that this will work and cause the camera to come back as it did before.

If this does not work, the camera is only good for parts or repair.
Possibly to be sold on a site such as Ebay as is or for parts or repair.

Sony dsc-H1 won't switch off of movie mode

When you switch the camera from mode to mode, does it make the click noise to signify that the camera recognized that it changed modes? If not it could be that the switch itself has become unlogged from the switch. I know I had a older camera had this happen before. Try pushing down hard on the toggle wheel and seeing if it will snap back into place. Otherwise the switch inside the camera itself is probably broken, and if this is the case cheapest thing you can do is have Sony do warranty work on the camera. Click repair and service under Technical Support. This will get the process started on the warranty work.

Ixus 65 movie recording but no sounds

Try this. While in the shooting mode, in the menu under the tools tab there is a mute control that turns all sounds off. Also under volume there is a control for playback volume.

This is a really simple problem and easy to solve.  Unfortunately the videos you've recorded cannot be changed back because they have been recorded in Time Lapse mode.
With the camera switched on in Video Mode turn the control dial on the back (this is the dial to the right of the LCD screen).  This will change the settings from TIME LAPSE to STANDARD.  There are actually 6 different modes but the best one for normal videos is STANDARD.  There is a HIGH RESOLUTION setting,  however these record fewer frames per second (fps) so whilst the quality is better per frame,  there are half the amount of fps so the the movie will look at bit jerky.
It's really easy to accidentally twist the dial when holding the camera,  so always check the icon in the top right of the LCD before recording to make sure its just a yellow camera in a yellow square.
This should be problem solved for future recording.

I have a power shot sd400 digital elph, when you turn it on the view finder just shows white with black lines and spots.can this be fixed

Depends on the age- If it is under warranty then send back to the vendor or maker.
If out of warranty - then no - insofar a likely repair charge if possible will cost nearly as much as new camera

Sony cybershot dsc-s600

Hi, here is a temporary solution that might work for you as it did for me:

1: turn on the camera in picture/movie review mode
2: turn the screen off (not the camera)
3: change from review picture/movie mode to take picture/movie mode
4: turn the screen back on.

You should now be able to take pictures and record.

Hope this is of some help.
