Green spot like a spotlight on the screen

We had a similar problem with colored dots all over the screen. It looked like a 70's disco light box except the colors didn't move or blink. Even though the TV was out of warranty, Panasonic sent a tech. According to him, it is a software problem with the light engine?!? Whatever that is. Anyway, they paid for the fix.

Take the offer,even they charge u it will still cheaper than the repair shop and quicker too,because they have the parts with them they don't have to trouble shoot like the shop,if the prob.the shop never seen it before.
